hehe, i've tried that, not bad
i suggest you download the keymap that assigns Menu button as "scroll down" and camera button as "scroll up"
since you need scroll down more often than scroll up (and there's problem with the camera button as it's a 2 pressure point key, therefore it'll send 2 registered key to the Garmin XT when searching address which will screw it up)
*

Do share here the custom keymap file here, or a linky to it? Very interested as not being able to scroll down after searching is driving me nuts... No such issues using the cam button to scroll with Web tho...

have you guys try this?

SOS 5800XM

(Change your current date in the phone to 01.05.2005.)
The first two tasks must be created. This is done with the following menu:
>Options
     >New entry
           >To-do list

Create the following two tasks in the following order:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
Tried it, it seems a bit faster but it can asso be attributed to the placebo effect... As after a while everything is cached and access is faster anyhow.. sweat.gif

Updating the front page for this: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/it...XpressMusic.php

What to do when you get your 5800: All About Symbian guide... biggrin.gif

i delete the tsrautostart.exe, the garmin will not start up
*
Erp... You're not supposed to delete it... sweat.gif

Just kill it with KillMe or Best Taskman EVERY TIME after you start garmin... biggrin.gif

Some of the forumers here did say that it doesn't really effect the 5800 anyhow, I'm just killin it to free memory... hmm.gif

I decided to uninstall garmin. Too lagging to scroll a map, not smooth enough like nokia map.
*
I need garmin for the routing, so it aint going anyway for me... biggrin.gif

Some places quite accurate. I like malfreemap.. The POI is nice. 7 eleven, maybank. haha. So cool
*
Just tried it out... Great alternative to Malsing!

Gonna be my main map (at least until I reach Johore/Singapore)... biggrin.gif

really? I just dont want to regret after buying it. I own e61i and E71 qwerty keypad. Now i worry only the nokia 5800 touchscreen qwerty. I tried iphone qwerty keypad i always accidentally press wrong key.
*
The virtual keypad is generally INFERIOR to hardware keys (esp. the one on the e71i), BUT the haptic feedback (read: vibration) on the 5800 helps TREMENDOUSLY (and the iPhone, as of now, does NOT have haptic feedback)... biggrin.gif

are you sure its a bug ?? or its the hardware problems ?? but seriously for me i don't mind with the phone's camera as i usually bring along  digital camera in my sling bag..
*
Seriously guys, in good light the cam isn't that bad... But in bad lighting, its sometimes even worse then my W810i... sweat.gif

I got my Fate-tan with that in mind though, so not really disappointed or anything... brows.gif

Besides, I have my Alphy-Tan... laugh.gif
