yeah it has that feeling, not much hands on blacksmith nowadays on car making. finding an old sifu like this is definitely hard and willing to work on ur car, even harder

heres the box of stuff i got from an ex-honda racer in his 80s. my s600 manual and some other brackets/stainless steel pieces. plus today's update on the welding. dashboard is out

i just got my B18C type r halfcut and installed into eh5(2-door civic eg).
i think there are some b16a manual(u wun with or w/o lsd) from the place i got my halfcut from.
the pricing is competitive.
where is your location?

you haven;t mention what car u want the halfcut for or you looking for auto or manual

if EG, then eg6 or eg9 halfcut where u can use the dashboard, and rear brakes, etc are between 6.5 to 7k for stock one
...u might be able to get LSD.
oh yah..B18C GSR from intergra also roughly that price

for EK, Ek2 and EK4 halfcuts are more ex...i think 8-9k??? or EK9 B16B halfcut..more than 12k?(someone familiar with EK halfcut plz advice me here also)
those are estimated price for halfcut (since i did some survey and ended up wanting a B18C type r) for my eg..i didn;t bother looking at B16a or b16B from ek as dashboard also i cannot use.

but dont forget the labour to get it installed,
the water pump, the bearings related to clutch, flywheel, timing,ECU?(you might want a rechipped ECU)steel-braided brake hose?
clutch?(exedy are above 900), timing belt? all those engine, brake, powersteering, clutch(or ATF) oil...
all those costs money and will set u back a few Ks as well....

and then...things like bucket seats?steering? gear knob? 2nd hand strut bars? rims and tires?
in the end....u will end up spending almost double of the halfcut cost if u want to setup the car nicely from scratch(meaning stock car)

unless....u already done up your car and just looking for a B16A halfcut to put in.....

good luck. i know i needed a lot of luck and $$$$ especially since not easy to find healthy halfcut and JDM parts at good price...

i've done simple mods to my FD1 as well so can provide some advice on civic FDs

The Civic ES2 slightly more powerful than the current FD2 with proper modifications... Not to mention it is lighter too. But stock to stock, the ES2 engine has a torque dip around 3800RPM... The engine also coded as K20A like the FD2R, but it is no where same.

And compare to older generations, wait Kev or Gouki to answer about that lolz...
