Yup, that's what the SA told me when I waiting for mine. Stocks for Gen2 CPS very limited and almost no choice for color. Even to get my black one (only color left for AT), the SA had to pull some strings. Had to err-hmm a bit. Haha...
Anyway, anyone can reco a good authorised SC near Cheras? |

QUOTE(bakry @ Mar 23 2009, 10:28 PM) I am getting the Gen2 CPS 1.6 Auto... why AT, you say? When MT more vroom? Well...even though its my car...my mom say "you know, in case I wanna use it..manual how? If you dying how?" When you get it, turn off the ac and go cameron on the Tapah road. I don't think you'll miss much on the MT. Heheh...I was like "...dying... ~.~ wuuu dowan die" But driving high revs seems to mess up the ecu. On the way back using autocruise, the gearbox likes to kick down on every small hill and that's at 120kmh... suddenly rpm jump to 5k plus rpm, not so smooth. In the end I just disabled it and went 160kmh with a City. |

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Mar 24 2009, 12:09 PM) The 6.5 is what? Liter/ 100 km eh? Ya, is L/100km as per the FC gauge in gen 2.Break-in ler, not realted to brake. Its the 'pantang' period. Some like to make it soft (always keep the rev low) and some (like me) make it hard (always redlining). Break-in, not braking but changing to steelbraided really makes a difference? Why is that? I tot would need to change pads or calipers or disc to improve braking. |

sphiroth: Thanks for the info on brakes. Some more things to budget for modding! Haha...
Just came back from 1st service at CKL Pandan Indah. Pretty good, fixed my steering and central lock. RM138 for Syntium 800. I wanted 10w-30 oil, but they say that's normally for Savvy, and the packaging is only in 1L and anyway they out of stock so too bad have to take the synth-blend rated 15w-50. What the hell, got a free Petronas T shirt too. Maybe at 5000km I'll try another PSC. |

Sorry, I meant the whole service was 138. They charge 97 for the oil as well. What's wrong with CKL? Please share!

Its just called CKL.
Can see it really makes a difference btw mechanics who know what they're doing and those who don't. Actually, that could be a good reason to stick to authorised SC as they would be more familiar with their own cars. |

I've decided Gen 2 will look better with 5-6 spoke rims instead of multi-spokes so hunting now.
What's the 2 way alarm for? CKL also writes down on the receipt all the things I asked them to check. |

The Gen2 FC meter is crazy. At 1st 6.5, then 6.9, then go cameron 7.5, now after service with regular town driving no high revs, become 9. Does seem to drink petrol quite fast...

eujinee: run in? My FC seems to stabilise at ard the 9.4 - 9.7 range on a light foot which I think is close the the real consumption. So far I've tried Caltex, Shell and now on Esso. Don't seem to feel much difference.
jVIPERs2: On empty tank I can pump about rm63 till the pump keeps cutting out, but when see fuel gauge its still nowhere near full. And really just travel a bit the meter already drop to 3/4! Tmr do PPS! |

Well, the shop gives a 3 year warranty for the coating and claims it can last 5 years on new cars with proper care and using their special wash every 6 mths. Their website is convincing anyway, esp the news articles.
Erm.. I tot gen 2 tank is only 40L? |

I got quoted 650 for interior and exterior. Don't mind using their shampoo anyway, its not exp. I'm lazy lah... simple wash every few days I can do, but I absolutely hate waxing. Takes so long and so much arm power. Haha...

Just came back from doing the PPS and spent whole day at pyramid. May be a bit exp, like you guys said, plus the shampoo is rm40 and they reco to go back every 6mths for touch up. But omg the shine of the car... Feels so super smooth and the water drops on it just beads and run off. Its even shinier than the 1st day I got my car. Loving it!

I debadged it myself, there's no need to remove it if you don't want to.
I was quoted 650 for the treatment, 550 for outside, 100 for interior plastics and leather. Their special shmpoo is rm40 and they reco you go back for a chemical wash every 6mths which cost rm100 and 3 hours. The place is at Sunway PJS11, ard where all the car workshops are. Takes about 5 hours and the boss Raymond will fetch you to pyramid if you don't want to wait in the office which has lots of free drinks, magazines and astro. Very nice guy. You get a free microfiber towel with the PPS and another with the shampoo. I tried it after I got back yesterday to dry the car after rinsing off the rain water and its very absorbent and doesn't shed fibers. You can't wash the car with soap 48 hours after treatment to allow for full bonding. The coating feels a lot smoother and even than wax jobs and gives the paint a very deep shine. Raymond advised not to park under direct sunlight or under trees and to wash off tree sap and bird shit within 24 hrs as they are very acidic. |

Good news then. I heard good things about monroe shocks too.
Yeah, dark paints are very hard to take care of to look their best, esp these few days keep raining. Everyday I have to rinse off the car when got back, damn susah. |
