I ain't advertising for Atlantis or anything, but they offer RM1600 for original there, RM1300 or so for AP.

To save about RM300 to go for an AP set is a lot, what say most of you? hmm.gif

I guess I will have to be saving up for more in this case. I too am worried if I go for an AP set and there will be some difficulties in claiming for warranty. hmm.gif

Err, going for AP set, I purchase quite some time ago, I went for telstar for warranty, and asked regarding the earphone prob, they took around 1 1/2 hours to change it smile.gif

Well, even for ori set, earphone prob is there, and at times, ori might take even longer also, heh. So totally depends on you dude, but if you're really THAT afraid, then go for ori lor biggrin.gif

So I guess if I'm going for an AP set then I should choose wisely on which AP company to choose.

Decision made, I bought a Midland set. I am now a proud owner of the SonyEricsson c905 black. biggrin.gif

Added on April 7, 2009, 11:36 amMy c905 battery is stuck at 99% despite being charged for about 4 hours. I searched on Google and it seems like this is usually something faulty. Does anyone have this similar problem as well? hmm.gif

i really think that AP sets shouldnt be supported until the AP companies get their stupid act together. especially in terms of after sales and RMA. always so bloody difficult to RMA AP sets no matter what the brand is. doh.gif

think of it as software... dont support pirated.... buy ori biggrin.gif

Added on April 7, 2009, 11:56 amjust do the initial 8 hour charge... and after that just use as per normal...

if theres problems....it would probably be later on and in which case...u can send for RMA.

also would advise u to update the firmware via SEUS (or at least check if urs is the latest)

What's the latest firmware by the way? I called up the service centre regarding my problem and they say that it is normal to be at 99% because the GPRS/EDGE/3G signal is turned on. hmm.gif

Yours able to be at 100%?

Ow no. I didn't initially charged mine for 8 hours. The charger went cold after bout 2 hours, and it says fully charged. Does it affects the battery's life? The battery's been drying kinda fast lately.

On the other hand, I'm able to charge mine till 100%.

latest firmware is R1DA032. tat comes wif smile shutter n wayfinder 8! =D
anyways, yeap, my phone can charge till 100% and i didnt do the 8hr initial charge i think. =p
try the battery for few days 1st... sometimes the batt need time to "start up" until it can reach its full capacity (read this in the net).
anyway, if u are not a frequent video caller, turn off 3G to save battery! =D
and also tune down screen brightness if u reaaalllyy wanna save battery. haha.

I've checked with a few service centres and they tell me that this is normal for the battery to not touch 100%. According to the people at the service centre, they say that this is because the phone will be kinda like syncing with the network thus it will never touch 100%. hmm.gif

Thanks for the info ian90. Glad I've got the latest firmware. How did you check the latest software version using the web?
Yeah, I've read bout the "start up" from the manual which I've conveniently threw one corner after reading at a glance tongue.gif

Noob question.. how do I turn off 3G?

I've always set the screen brightness to the near minimum at 60%. I'd say this phone's screen is great outdoors at lower brightness as well!

Weird, I understand that it'll slowly reduce from 100% due to as they mentioned due to network synchronization and all that. But, I'm able to hit 100% during charging, and immediately after removal from the charger. Although it doesn't last that long before it reduces to 91%+. But heck, 99% and 100% is only 1% difference tongue.gif Nevertheless, try extending the duration of charging to say, 5-10 minutes extra?

To turn off 3G, go to your settings under connectivity, select mobile networks followed by GSM/3G networks.

Well, I've charged it more than 4 hours and it remains at 99%. One of the guy from the service centre told me that he also uses a c905 and is also touching 99% max. If most service centre explained a similar thing to me, I don't think I will be able to do anything even if I bring it back there. hmm.gif
