Whoa dude, is the 'see saw cable' really that vulnerable? Man, imagine if it's due for a change after the warranty's validity period

Oh, good for you. May I know what is the latest firmware available from SEUS right now? And will updating the firmware wipe the phone's memory clean? :|

Ow no. I didn't initially charged mine for 8 hours. The charger went cold after bout 2 hours, and it says fully charged. Does it affects the battery's life? The battery's been drying kinda fast lately.
On the other hand, I'm able to charge mine till 100%. |

QUOTE(ian90 @ Apr 7 2009, 08:55 PM) hallo, welcome to the club, yongkailoon! XD Thanks for the info ian90. Glad I've got the latest firmware. How did you check the latest software version using the web? latest firmware is R1DA032. tat comes wif smile shutter n wayfinder 8! =D anyways, yeap, my phone can charge till 100% and i didnt do the 8hr initial charge i think. =p try the battery for few days 1st... sometimes the batt need time to "start up" until it can reach its full capacity (read this in the net). anyway, if u are not a frequent video caller, turn off 3G to save battery! =D and also tune down screen brightness if u reaaalllyy wanna save battery. haha. Yeah, I've read bout the "start up" from the manual which I've conveniently threw one corner after reading at a glance Noob question.. how do I turn off 3G? I've always set the screen brightness to the near minimum at 60%. I'd say this phone's screen is great outdoors at lower brightness as well! QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Apr 7 2009, 11:13 PM) I've checked with a few service centres and they tell me that this is normal for the battery to not touch 100%. According to the people at the service centre, they say that this is because the phone will be kinda like syncing with the network thus it will never touch 100%. Weird, I understand that it'll slowly reduce from 100% due to as they mentioned due to network synchronization and all that. But, I'm able to hit 100% during charging, and immediately after removal from the charger. Although it doesn't last that long before it reduces to 91%+. But heck, 99% and 100% is only 1% difference This post has been edited by Archronicles: Apr 7 2009, 11:36 PM |

Alrighty.. thanks for the info. My phone lags for 4 seconds while doing that, rofl. I've gotta admit I haven't truly explored the phone's features.
Well, if they said it's that way.. then I've no further comment. Did you checked the status while the charger is still running or after you've remove it? The next time I fully charge I'll snap a picture for you yeah? |

Can the phone be charged? Does the 'Charging' screen appear during charging? Try asking her to remove the battery and insert it back again. I personally did not encountered such a problem before though.
Probably it's just the battery or firmware problem, try asking her to call the service center and ask. Hopefully it's an original set, then it wouldn't be a big deal to repair or replace the batts. |

It vibrates? That shows that the phone is indeed charging. I've got a bad feeling it might be the 'see saw' cable connecting to the screen is faulty. So the screen went blank. It's just my deductions, I'm not sure of anything though. Try testing by pressing 'C' to turn on the phone, and see whether it could still receive calls (there should be a dialing tone from the caller if the line is active).
I think she shouldn't be worried of the warranty, since it's within a month of purchase. If it's the battery prob, the warranty should be still valid for the charger, battery and handsfree. There should be 1 year warranty for the phone from the place she bought the phone. |

No problem. Just make sure that they don't charge unnecessarily. If they do, always check the market price for any parts recommended.

Whoa, looks like some of the phones still have issues. Not a good sign. Good luck with the repairs.

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Apr 9 2009, 12:17 AM) My keypad's backlighting isn't that even (some parts are bright and some parts slightly dimmer) but in GSMArena they stated that the keypad backlight is even. Also, I notice that my number 5 and 6 has some dots on in when the backlight is on. Hey! That's exactly the same as my set. My 5 and 6 has dots, including some slight ones on 8. The top keypad buttons have brighter backlighting. Sigh.Just another small issue I guess, at least the phone still works fine for me so far. |

Yep, everyone demands perfection. Anyway, I'm still new with GPS and stuffs (my previous phone was W800i :swt:). The klang valley map available for download isn't really complete. Anyone having a complete Malaysian map? Care to share?
On the other hand, I heard we're able to convert malsing/malfree maps to be utilized for TrekBuddy. Anybody able to do that? |

QUOTE(ian90 @ Apr 11 2009, 02:56 PM) not really less sensitive... its juz tat there's no more press feedback anymore... it's like pressing nothing. lembik... Some forumers claim that C905 is able to read 16GB M2 cards, and so are other newer SE phones. They said as long as the card is formatted with FAT32 file system, even 32GB cards are suitable with our phones. Dunno how true though i dun think it supports 16gb. max is 8gb and i bought mine at RM129 (high speed) 1 month ago. On the other hand, anybody able to use the Wayfinder MapLoader to download maps? I got it to run for like, awhile before the updating bar vanishes without warning |
