ZTE is much more stringent when it comes to hiring staffs compared to Huawei.

For ZTE, engineers are required to have at least 3-5 years relevant experience. You are preferably a Chinese who knows how to speak various dialects mainly Mandarin, Cantonese with the ability to write/read it as well.

I believe ZTE will now start to hire local engineers quite massively since they have been awarded a big project by Digi lately. biggrin.gif However, I heard that ZTE environment is like Huawei, one leg kicking all the way. As for the remuneration package, I am not sure whether it is better than Huawei or not.

Anyone can comment?

one of the responsibilities of this job would be providing support, installation, configuration and conducting commissioning for newly integrated sites where sometimes these site are connected using microwave or optical fiber. the position is contract basis, but do not misunderstood, even its a contract position, you enjoy all the benefits as what permanent staff get. you're not attached to other company, you're a ZTE staff.

depends on which position you applied for. when you carry out installation and commissioning, its normal to work extra hours. this is because you need to make sure the equipments are set properly and solve any issues when it happen. but if you applied for optimization work, where your time will be mostly at the office, it is likely not required to work extra hours everyday.

then how do u speak to your superior manager? most of them are from China. i got a fren who works as engineer and he found it very hard to communicate with his boss in Mandarin and in the end he quit the job. he is a banana (chinese but don't know how to speak Mandarin)

surprisingly most of the Malays work in ZTE can speak Mandarin very well. thumbup.gif

Its all about telco business, you have to work hard if you intend to join with this China company, many local employees cant sustain with this company culture...one more thing, they wont train you, you train yourself...if they think you are not valuable, they will fire u.

“A telecommunications company senior executive received a rude shock when he was handed a box of chocolates filled with cash, believed to be “tens of thousands of ringgit” by an international supplier.
He tried returning the “gift” to the supplier’s country manager but was turned down. The senior executive then informed his bosses and lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
MACC confirmed it received the report and was investigating ZTE Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the country manager, a Chinese national, who had since left the country. The company is a subsidiary of ZTE Ltd that is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Sources said the two men had dinner at an upmarket restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and at the end of the meal, the ZTE country manager passed a gift to the senior executive, telling him it was a box of chocolates.
When the senior executive returned home and opened the wrapped gift, he was shocked to find money. The exact amount is unknown but insiders revealed it was believed to be tens of thousands of ringgit.”
Sources said the two men had discussed new contract terms for a project and the country manager tried to persuade the senior executive to accept his company’s terms.
