my mom just called me just now...
She said my neighbour who live below me...
Complain my dog middle of the night bark...
And then say wanna call those SPCA or DBKL to catch my dog..
I need someone to reply asap...
Do they have the rights to do that?
I havent got license yet... My mom said got license also no use...
What should I do??
My dog stay inside my house... They hv the rights to take away my dog meh??
Somemore they have no proof that its my dog barking...
Because I dont even here him bark... Mayb i cant hear...
But can i ask them for proof?? And my mom said no matter how I must move the dog away?
Or they will fine me rm500 for keeping dog...
He's been living here for 2 yrs alredi... In my previous house it was okay to have dogs..
But my family suddenly moved house... And now we live in an 5 floor apartment..

Anyone is a pet owner or willing to help adopt my dog temporarily?
I can pay for his food etc..
I need somewhere for him to stay... Proper care and attention..
Just preferably that person doesnt work... He is also not potty trained...
He loves to play...He is maltese... 1 yr +... Small in size... I live in Selayang...
But he's getting used to my house and his playpen area... I'm even training him to go toilet..
He does it when i put him in my room, my room has toilet... so he goes into the toilet and pees there..
But if he's in the playpen and u never catch when he wants to pee, he will pee in the pen...

I need a foster parent right now...
And he haven't learn to do unappropriate actions or anything yet.. So preferably no female dogs

NEW UPDATE : NEW UPDATE : even if we are forced to move.. my family are going to move to a condominium...
Should I give away my dog?? Or should I buy a muzzle? Its kinda cruel...

Added on June 21, 2009, 11:35 pmShould I give away him??? Find a good owner for him?? COULD ANYONE GIVE ADVICE!?

Hi Miko,

I'm not sure if i could help you. I own a maltese for 7 years already. She's kinda barky at night when i first brought her home and i pampered her because i cant stand her barking.. so i let her sleep with me.. at nights she sleeps really late and she likes wandering my room. And as you said that ur maltese bark and howl is kinda unusual..

Anyway back to your neighbour who threatens you.. do they really have prove that your maltese barks? I have received complains in my apartment which i just move in two years ago. At first she grumbles and make some noise.. but now she' adapts to the situation already. And my neighbour was saying we cant have dogs.. which is the regulation in the apartment.. but i reason with them saying that my maltese does not wander around the place and will make too much noice. I told them i will ensure them that the dog is only at my property.. But if the people come and catch unless is authority people like DBKL but usually they will fine you for not having license.. they wont take it away.. and yes your neighbours have no right to snatch ur baby away..

Maybe u can try talking to ur neighbours and reason with them. Maltese are really loyal friend and they'll get depressed if you give them away for fostering. sad.gif

Added on June 22, 2009, 5:09 pmand also maybe u can try investing the bark colar.. from the pet shop. Its kinda pricey.. but it works and maltese are actually very smart and learn very fast.. that way u can stop his barking attitude in the night.

My girl sleep with me in my room because I rented a room here... she's not barky to me.. only bark when she saw big dog as in try to challenge -.-;

But she will bark and sleep near my room door whenever she heard any mischievous sounds as in means while I'm sleeping and housmate made noise she will bark angryly towards the door and after she thinks it's okay she will just sleep there.

She never bark and will only bark if I put her inside playpen so she will only put inside the pen if she did something wrong

From your story.. did any of ur family ever heard ur dog bark late night? if u did, have u try to check on him, talk to him and find why he bark? cuz mine will bark whenever she think I'm in dangerous and she looks like a guard dog to me.

Even if u did move to a condo, u should try to see how ur dog behave in new environment if no barking or nothing to worry about then u just need to supervise for a while n if nothing happen then u guys can live as happily as normal smile.gif

New maltese owner here, DOB 3rd of April 09, got it at Pet's Buddy Station Taman Megah at 980RM. Do you guys think it is overpriced? Anyways it's superly cute, groomed, ears and tail dyed with orange colour. No MKA, dewormed and 2 jab vaccinated. smile.gif

And btw, his name is Codiee. wink.gif

Whether is it overpriced depends on quality, pedigree, health, etc.... It can go as high as 10k, 20k for show maltese... For pet rm980 is quite reasonable.. Enjoy a great life with ur new maltese.. smile.gif

Hey guys, i just found out that maltese is very hard to teach! Mine is 3 months old, and has he learned to obey commands? Many times i've taught and it seems that my codie still does not know it. AND, he pees and poo around the house. Multiple times i've scolded and tap his nose in front of his own mess, showing him the place he's supposed to release himself but he still doesn't know. Very susah to train.

Another thing is, he likes to bite stuffs. Even my fingers. Are all puppies like that? How long will they take to develop?

even babies when teething they will try to bite anything as well smile.gif
so it's normal for a puppy to bite things when their teeth start to go...
about toilet trained.. u need to put more effort to teach him/her cuz they might not get what u mean n every puppy have diff personality.

Once they attach to you already it will easy for the to learn what u wan.. some puppy easy to train while some is just so rebellious like mine. But since mine like food so much I dun have to worry cuz she will do anything to get food smile.gif

I'm not a pro yet... Cant really explain to u how to evaluate the quality of them dog.. But u'll c the vast different btw good n bad quality maltese.. Can try to search more from the internet or books... Pedigree tells u your dog's parents n its ancestor a few generation back, it's in the MKA cert where u can refer ur dog's bloodline n ancestor... Below r how the good quality, perhaps champion maltese looks...

Name : Touffy (Pronounced as Too-Fee)
Sex : Male
Breed : Maltese
D.O.B : 16th March 2009

Speciality : Creating havoc, barking and whining... also biting tongue.gif

He came to our house on the 22nd of April after his first vaccine. He looked so cute and quiet. But then hell broke lose on the 2nd day onwards. He's so active and so playful, running around the house and wee-ed and poo-ed everywhere.

We spent some time training him so now at least he knows where to do his 'business' biggrin.gif
but sometime dunno he notty or forgetful. he still wee and poo everywhere when he feels like doing tat.

About 3 weeks ago, he managed to climb up the stairs and go to my bedroom.
but he dunno how to come down. tongue.gif
last few days, he learnt how to come down by himself edy.
the headache part is he like to go upstairs to poo on the brand new carpet. sad.gif *headache*

Here is some of his photos

I see, so the teeth will be still growing at the 3rd month? He's a really naughty dog, when i say NO! pointing the finger at him, he'll try to reach and bite my fingers. Lol.

Anyhow, i think toilet training a dog is a really tough job. How do you do it? And what do you do when he pee-ed and poo-ed on the place he's not supposed to? Thanks fellow sifus for guiding me, the beginner. smile.gif

xD as for my aiko... one day i let him roam free in the house and i happen to go into the toilet to wash my leg or something and i saw yellow water on the floor... he pee on the wet floor = ="
so i decided to change to my room's toilet.... when i play with him in the room.... he will go to the DRY toilet and pee... and i will say good boy... but 1 time he missed and pee on the floor = =" in my room... even poo also same... before i put him in the playpen... i lock him in the bathroom for like 1min to make sure he has no more pee...
but in the middle of the night when everybody's sleeping like 12am-10am morning... he pee and nobody can bring him or stop him... so the only time he pee in his playpen is morning or i couldnt catch the timing when he is peeing... so not 'sempat' to bring him to the toilet

Your maltese looks like mine during puppy time.

2.2kg is too heavy for a 3 months maltese. Mine only around 1.4kg at 3 months. Now 3.4kg at 8 months. At 3 months, i feed her about 25 pellets each meal, 2 meals per day. I feed her about 30 pellets now.

I believe 3 tables spoon not exceeding 25 pellets. The size of the maltese is very much depending on genetic.

The brown patch on the ears might or might not vanish when grows adult. RM1250 is reasonable price for local breed maltese.

My maltese is housebreaking and she only pee on the tray, 100% accuracy.

My maltese very independent one. She doesn't attached me so much. I love my maltese but u still have personal thing to do in house. I do not want him to keep barking when i am not in her eye sight.

2.2 kg for 3 months I must say too much... as now mine is 9 months old about 1.5 kg++ only...

I'm not sure about feeding amount as I fed mine with barf since she was puppy till now so kibbles I used as treats for her sometimes tongue.gif

but I do heard that for puppy 6-7weeks if not mistaken, feed 2 times a day with 2 table spoon each time feeding. and dont give him too much snack except treats for training purposes smile.gif

Mine now only eat 1 times a day about 60-70 gram per meal. Same with yours she has brown patches as well carried from her father pigmentation smile.gif
