Actually slicker brush is not good for maltese coat n skin.... If have tangles, is best to use the 'greyhound comb' and a good detangler spray and slowly comb out the matts.... I know most groomers will use slicker to tear out the matt so last time i used to comb out tangles n matts on seraph before sending her to the groomer....
*
If we use the spray before detangle it is okay because it wont really 'break-off' the coat. But if we straightaway use it without any detangle spray it will actually break the coat. Slicker brush is a bit rough that's y I only use it comb the legs area and to dematt. Normal grooming I will use pin brush n rat tail for the face smile.gif

Surprisingly, last time when autumn still in long coat, I feels like she tend to get tangle easily in one time but whenever I sent her to groomers, I hardly get any 'complain' from them bout matt all over but mostly annie told me that her puppy coat still intact and her adult coat not yet to grow. With all the things happen I hope time I really can save her coat and no more cutting -.-

last time i touch the slicker feels kinda sharp and i read that is mostly for double coated dogs to remove the undercoat.... so i dun dare use for her.... that time fred taught me to use comb slowly pick the tangles out, so everytime she will patiently lie there let me groom her unless i pull too hard then she will wanna growl & snap me....
*
yep, slicker is sharp thats y need to buy those good brand like kim laube or other I forgot. Good slicker brush is not too sharp and wont break the coat but if buy those cheap cheap whatsoever brand the needle is SUPER SHARP and it can hurt your hand too before start brushing -.-"

Autumn hate grooming now haish... and as usual she doesnt like the feeling of any sort comb/brush touch her tummy -.-" and her sensitive part is her butt xD
Whenever I want to groom the butt she will made this slightly growl and look at me so angrily lol this one cant help cuz last time my breeder told me when puppy she accidentally got her butt kena cut or dunno wat so she will growl when anything touch the butt xD even when I tried to hold the tails to make her stand properly she will die die to sit down dun let me touch the butt LOL

is ok if dont have Madan brand..will survey on other better pin brush.
*
The best would be either CC, Kim laube or Madan brush but I prefer Madan Brush as now CC very hard to get. Pink color Madan pin brush is the best choice for maltese because of its softness texture that suitable to brush maltese coat. My grooming tools are varies from these 3 brands xD Pin brush from CC, Rat tail & Greyhound comb from Madan and clipper from Kim Laube xD

I like Seapark Pet Supplies cuz they really carry lots of stuff. It's too bad they don't really put much effort on their website, it would be great if they start doing some postage and we could order from the website thou.

One more thing i forgot to mention, DONT choose brushes that have the round balls at the end of the pins.... They will tear maltese coat....
Nophie, u offer your services to setup the web for them in exchange for grooming equipments la.... tongue.gif
*
At the moment their grooming tools is more than enough xD Even for my self I only use cheap cheap comb but for them, the price is ................. xD
But seriously, they should start focusing on their website. I realize not many products they put on the site and also some no pics to view -.-""

Welcome to both Snowy! I know many ppl name their dogs "Snowy" due to their white color coat xD
I got few friends also named their kids Snowy and its really headache when there's more than 1 Snowy hang around lol

btw, I realize not much maltese owner like to come and hang around here.... its been nearly a year and we have yet to move to another version xD Guess only me and CyaNide27 that often come to kacau only wink.gif

ya ya... Jasmine like to sniff anything n every thing... For her, bring her to walk like bring her to sniff anything that she could sweat.gif while autumn should be okay just that nowaday I dont really like to let them walk unless the park is REALLY clean xD

Maybe I should invest in opening new 'indoor' park with pet cafe inside? xD I so want to go Japanese to experience their pet cafe. Their pet industry so well accepted but in Malaysia, as long as they allow us to bring out babies along we would be more than happy laugh.gif

Added on July 3, 2011, 12:35 amquiet again..... xD
any owner want to meet up? I realize everytime we had gathering it would always be our maltese gang laugh.gif was thinking if owner here would like to meet up and let our kids play together smile.gif

I want to take my maltese for a (local) holiday and seems 2 places came up consistently, one in Langkawi and another in East Coast, cant rmbr which state.

Just wondering if any of you guys/gals know of a place in Cameron Highlands or some lovely scenic place that allows dogs.
*
There's a bungalow in Cameron which you can rent and bring ur dogs there. Some of my friends bring their dogs there before but must remember to walk them on leash when its outside and only some area which u could bring ur pet together smile.gif

last time seraph had tried staying in hotels a few time.... and she wont bark unless we play with her so we just tahan few days dont play lo (note: not she tahan, is us that need to tahan....  doh.gif ) neither will she whine when left alone, so its fine....  tongue.gif  sometimes she sit on my lap while i driving, got 1 time the housing area guard ask me if it was a patung....  whistling.gif  sigh.... i miss her so much and the times we have together.... almost 1 month le....  cry.gif  cry.gif
*
How I wish I could turn back time to the day autumn still behave very 'lady' like... She used to stay quietly inside the bag till people thought she was a soft toy but now? she's too FRIENDLY to the stage she must greet everyone if not she will made noise nonstop till she greet the people -.-"" I'm now trying to teach her again to stay quietly inside the bag... hopefully she could learn fast then I could bring her along every where inside bag without worry she will made noise...

eh i like the powder! xD it really made her tears dried and not so wet thumbup.gif

Her hair growing fast smile.gif
if you want to keep her in short coat try to keep her front hair and tail, it will make you avoid going to groomers every month. Like me I kinda regret cutting Jasmine to puppy cut as the front hair are now poking her sensitive eyes.. but since your's okay with top knot I think you may consider keeping her front hair smile.gif

as for boarding, cant say much cuz I don't know anyone staying at kuantan there. If you could train her to be quite inside the bag and pad trained, you could smuggle her into the apartment with you but if not, you may need to find people that you trust to take care of her. I'm now very scared to left them for boarding as whenever I left them, they will came back with too much stress and problem for me to handle ><

Both my Lola and Charlie is also very kepo esp Lola. She will get her nose into anything. When she see strangers, she will run to them and stand on her behind legs. She obviously knows no danger.. doh.gif
*
autumn has learnt her own lesson to 'greet' people so she is now friendly towards people or even stranger but as long as you dont carry her, her 'alarm' wont come off... once you carry her, she wont hesitate to move her body like an aligator did (turn their body 360 degree to prevent ppl to catch them) and her alarm will came off anytime soon if anyone besides me carry her laugh.gif

Hi loong1111, these are their small picture? very cute o. One thing i want ask, y u buy 2 maltese at the same time one..juz curious..can manage both? btw, where u buy it from, breeder or petshop?

Im planning to buy another one later after weebo grow older..but i scare i have no time for two..tongue.gif maybe juz find a partner for her then keep the baby...
*
I sometimes a bit regret getting my 2nd maltese so soon cuz now both of them are attention seeker... Last time when only have autumn, I'll bring her anywhere with me but now since I got 2, I need to take turn bring them out unless I can bring both then I'll bring but mostly I'll bring only 1 of them and 1 will stay at home. Now everytime bring 1 out the other 1 will cries sweat.gif which now I seldom bring dogs out d unless I really wanted to bring 1 out la xD

But at one point I never regret adopting Jasmine, as she is now living her life to the fullest, though she's pretty stubborn doh.gif I even thought of adding few more in the future when I'm sure I'm ready and can handle more malts tongue.gif

Now I'm thinking to get license soon so I can bring them both out together, cuz usually I always tumpang friend's car so I'm kinda hand full if need to bring 2 dogs biggrin.gif

most importantly, you need to make sure your 1st malt is accepting your new puppy, like mine, autumn will accept that Jasmine is our family now and will share drinks (NOT food xD), bed, toys etc but she still reluctant to share ME with her laugh.gif she's the jealous type and will never accept if I pet Jasmine w/o petting her 1st -.-" its been more than a year that Jasmine has stayed with us but still the tension between them is never 100% good. Sometimes they will fight as in when bad mood but not until serious fight la, but most of the time Jasmine is a follower, she knows autumn is the leader and will follow whatever she did thus every 'bad' things like begging, or those that I dont want her to learn she learn it from autumn LOL

wah..after reading ur stories..i think i consider again to have another maltese..haha coz i got 2 kids at home..then will be 3 trouble to solved..hehe..wait they grow bigger then i more easier only will think of another pets..or else i juz find a partner for weebo then i'll keep the puppy.

now i want to get her pad training but it seems not working coz
everytime i let her out from cage she seem holding her bladder..any advise on this..my fren advise me to try johnson training spray & repellent as well..it works on her dogs.

How bout u all...please advise..
*
I thought's you're pad training her soon after you got her? now only train her?
Where did she usually go potty? inside her cage?
Autumn has been pad trained since puppy by her breeder so I don't really train her again when I bring her back, just tell her where is the pad and monitor if she miss the spot. Fortunately she never miss even once and until now I never really scared she will simply pee but if I bring out to other places, I must be sure that she knows where the pad is if not she will come crying to me if she no longer can hold her pee and I'll bring her to potty or something will miss if I don get her meaning xD

as for Jasmine, I did teach her for quite sometime only she get the meaning... She's been flooding my room with pee everywhere since the day I bring her back and only 1-2 out of 10 she will go to the pad. What I did what keep on repeating that she should pee at the pad and when I'm at home I'll monitor her, whenever she want to go potty I will then bring her to the pad and what till she did her business then praise her. Not sure if other dogs is the same but she pretty hard to train... after few months she finally gets the idea but sometimes she will still pee on the floor while I'm not at home doh.gif she couldn't learn any tricks also, the only think that I've successfully teach her for a year now is only sit wink.gif
