Actually slicker brush is not good for maltese coat n skin.... If have tangles, is best to use the 'greyhound comb' and a good detangler spray and slowly comb out the matts.... I know most groomers will use slicker to tear out the matt so last time i used to comb out tangles n matts on seraph before sending her to the groomer....
If we use the spray before detangle it is okay because it wont really 'break-off' the coat. But if we straightaway use it without any detangle spray it will actually break the coat. Slicker brush is a bit rough that's y I only use it comb the legs area and to dematt. Normal grooming I will use pin brush n rat tail for the face Surprisingly, last time when autumn still in long coat, I feels like she tend to get tangle easily in one time but whenever I sent her to groomers, I hardly get any 'complain' from them bout matt all over but mostly annie told me that her puppy coat still intact and her adult coat not yet to grow. With all the things happen I hope time I really can save her coat and no more cutting -.-
