You went to which vet? You should try to feed her some soft meal cause after surgery they wont really want to eat anything. It's actually same with us, after surgery sure wanna eat porridge as its hard to chew... If you fed her barf before it would be great cause u can still feed her the meat as it's already grinned.
I guess autumn is one small hero eh? she never in pain or whatsoever cause her appetite still as big as before surgery xD but she did have some problem being sedative as she refuse to sleep which ended up need to double up the dose in order for her to be fully sedative... and she was also covered a bit in blood as they couldn't found the right vein to put the needle in... its really heart breaking whenever I remember that day ><

Did he sedate her before the surgery? not sure if seraph is reli a timid girl or not but if they really sedate them before the surgery I don't think they will feel any pain at all cause it really surprise me when I pick up autumn after the surgery and she like usual as in she havent had any surgery at all lol

If I'm really going, I will bring both cause I will bring one friend as well and yeah both already finish their heat but autumn doesn't really look pretty like before

Honestly I never thought I would get my self a dog until I settle down with job, house, etc plus never in my mind that I get my self not only 1 but 2 maltese while all this while I'm longing for a huskie I'm gonna make sure once I really settle down I'll get my self a pit n a huskie LOL I wonder what my household gonna be huh?

One thing for sure, for puppy they need to eat more about 3 to 4 times a day because they're still growing. Yes, you can soak the kibbles with water before feeding but... 20 small pcs? I guess that is too little for them!! I'm not sure how many u should feed but definitely not 20 small pieces unless you want to control their size like some ppl did, then you can control the food either.

My advice for the food, u can refer to the kibbles package as they will stated there how much a puppy should eat. Thou different scoop that u refer to will also affect on how much you should give

the creamy color is normal but Milky seems nothing compare to autumn. When she was still puppy, both her ears, some body part n tail were in brown which ppl always called her as shih tzu instead of maltese lol

anyhoo, if u can feel his ribs = skinny as in not enuf full
u could try to use those 'soup spoon' that we used (bigger than table spoon) to measure his food intake. Try to feed him 1 to 1 1/2 spoon of kibbles n follow up with him to check if it was enough for him or not. Gradually u'll learn on how much he can take his food per meal

@nicole, some ppl here are not really aware about maltese breed, all they know as shih tzu lol it makes me tired and lazy to correct them so there's a time I just gave them a smile when they mention shih tzu to my baby girl

If seraph gets angry whenever u try to put her on her back its either means she hasnt trust u yet or she really hate to be control LOL
some dogs will only allow ppl that they trust to touch their body or to do whatever we want we them. I can even drag both Autumn n Jasmine while they're asleep xD esp autumn, I can tuck her, drag grab one of her hind leg n drag around on floor (not the torture type ), carry her or did whatever I want to kacau her sleep but it doesnt work. Cause she still close her eyes even I did all those things and I'm pretty sure she knows I'm try to kacau her lol

Saw this brand at PLC few months back and wanted to get 1 at the time but they have no sample package so I just walk away... until recently I saw someone at poodle's thread bought and fed this brand to his poodle and he like the result so today after class I went to PLC to grab 1 the small bites for my girls. Autumn suddenly turn choosy and prefer her barf rather than artemis which is good for me that I plan to switch back to barf due to their skin condition. But of course I'd love to see if this fish4dog will give me a good result as I might need something to substitute when my stock of chicken finishing hope autumn okay with this brand ><

btw nicole, seraph is way TOO SMALL liao xD you should pump her more leeee

eh nicole, u still gave seraph fish4dogs right? does her poo smelly after u switch to this brand?

I cant really tell bout the smell as I mix artemis with it. Knew bout the poo smell from my friend who also tried to feed her maltese with this brand and they said the poo smell is very strong. One thing I realize is that autumn's breath/mouth indeed became smelly while Jasmine breath which 'nearly' smell better now smell like fish -.-" at first I thought want to continue with this brand but if the mouth really became more smelly I will changed it back to artemis

Nicole, you tried artemis before? seraph don't want to eat? having kids who LOVES to eat also have problem. Since they love it so much, they're not a good tester and thus they became my food detector and I think autumn success in finding those snacks that I hide newai, u might really consider giving her barf maybe she will have more appetite?

it can help to clean the stain, eliminate breath smell and also helps when dematting the fur. You can opt to get the small bottle if u want cause if you only use for dematting it will last 2 months ++ for me la xD

Still, I prefer to only take back the puppy after 1st vaccine thou I've had experience with dogs. Reason being: for me that's the most ethical way to ensure the puppy is well taken care by the so-called-breeder. I know some prefer to let the owner do the 1st vaccine as they can reduce some cost even the vaccine cost is not so much but i.ie if its only 1 dog = save approx. RM 35 if 5 dogs (5x35) =RM 175 and so on.

Other reason is some person thought getting the puppy back earlier is better for them to socialize or from 'seller' view, get rid of the dog as fast as they could is better than keeping them for so long which they need to pay for the food cost as well as space concern. For me, I don't mind waiting for them to finish their shot only bring them back or about 3-4 months as long as the breeder ensure me that the pup is healthy and I trust the seller it self.

People may have different point of view and thus is forum is created for us to discuss things, so no offense to anyone who feel offended cause this is the open discussion

Don't want to say much but one thing for sure, the seller should at least 'advice' you on which dog food that they currently feed ur puppy and what other brand you can consider to feed to the puppy rather than hang you like this in the blank

as been mentioned, common brand that people choose is artemis, acana, orijen, and so on. I personally feed artemis and satisfy with it while for acana, it might cause tear stain to your dog as for poodle this brand is not a good choice cause it will cause tear stain

yup. It's advisable la. Cause if the end of the coat start to break-off u must trim it to avoid it from affecting other parts of the coat

haha once u try full groom once you will have the urge to try short cut for her except the head lol
autumn 1st full groom was forced by my mom -.-"" she nag me for months to let her get some trimming due to her cotton type coat which will have some fur flies around whenever I comb her. That time the coat really annoy me much and in the end I give in n send her for grooming. Then after awhile I get her cut puppy cut with the head still on cause her coat get tangle even after few hours I comb her so I get annoyed and get her another cut LOL but now i seldom send her to grooming anymore after the last incident. She is now scared of groomer and will shiver with fast heartbeat whenever I left her there
