Alkt,

Continue from dog food thread, I also think to leave him alone from 8.30am to 6pm. Curently, he is at my mother house which is quite troublesome to always go to pick him up after work. Cause at mother house they always feed him junk food, and give anything he want. No teaching at all hence making him more n more naughty liau. At her hse he is being treated like king. At my hse, i always press him cause wznt him to learn to be obidient.

You can left your puppy at home while you're working but I would advise you to get him a play pen instead of caging him all day when you're not at home. You can always put his cage inside play pen. With this he got more space to roams instead of sitting inside the cage wait you to come back from home. This is what I did with my puppy last time when I need to let her stay at home while I went to class. I never like the idea of caging them inside a cage thus I always go for play pen. Not to say cage training is not good but I just dont like the cage with bar step like what most people buy. I prefer the type of cage which they could stay inside comfortably without thinking need to put their paws in between the bar just to make sure their legs doesn't fall down and get hurt

ya, as what muchan said, there is a type of plastic cage, where the base is solid, not bars, but its slightly more expensive la.... but good for their feet.... also got a type of playpen that made of plastic instead of metal which can rust.... i use those although more expensive but i feel its safer coz wun rust.... and dont leave your puppy outside the house, nowadays many dognapping cases....

yea playpen sounds good. wanted to get them but still weighing my options of who is selling it at the best price tongue.gif

another reason why i dun leave Casey at my mom's place too often is because of the princess treatment. she knows she'll get treated like a princess there that's why everytime when about to reach mom's place, u can see her tail wag like mad already laugh.gif

How does weebo drink water? From bowl or the dispenser? Does her face get wet frequently? When u dry her face daily, apply whitening powder as well.... If now dun combat n let the stain stay there, soon it will bcome permanent stain....
And if possible, mop floor every day or every 2 days, coz they sort of act like a mop as well with the white n long hair.... biggrin.gif

Weebo drinks from bottle...her face & mouth not wet but yellowish..izzit becoz of the tear..she dont have any tear stain so im not worry about it..but after bath all gone..the whitening shampoo works but then the yellowish come back..i did wipe & clean her face everyday after meal & when i comb her fur...

Weebo still stay in cage coz i need to work..so she seldom outside unless weekend, i mop the floor every weekend..so when she out to play, the floor is clean..dont worry..even i mop it once a week, my house is clean coz not many ppl staying in my house..juz me & my children..

Weebo looks so white, clean and prettier! How I wish Autumn can stop whining then she will have no stains tongue.gif
As for the mouth turn yellow, I cant advice much until I know the reason why its happen. Normally the mouth area if always wet, it will turn the white into yellow. So far Autumn's never encounter anything except her stains, Jasmine used to looks like that if you've seen her old photo before and now its get better althou not fully white yet but it doesnt look as yellow/brownish like last time. Reason maybe because I let them drink from water bottle instead of bowl. I dont like the idea of letting them drink from bowl and wet their mouth. It could also because of food. Since I hand feed them when I fed barf and if I fed kibbles I will wipe their mouth after ate. Sometimes the mouth area will turn yellow after their meal, worst if u soak the kibbles.
It's normal when its puppy time. Mostly is because their teething so they will put whatever they can find into their mouth. It's not merely asking for you attention smile.gif
What you can do is buy some toys for her and always use the toy to re-direct her whenever she took something she's not supposed to. Not to brag but I'm lucky to have maltese who doesn't bite anything ever since she was a puppy but she likes to stole my snacks thou

Be careful with what I bold. If you dont want her to get hurt of simply took anything, buy play pen and she could roam free inside without hurting both her and your house's stuff. I said this because my friend's pom bite some electricity cable at her house while she's not at home and resulted in being electrify until death. So please be careful in setting up a boundaries for a small puppy. Unless your dog already know your house rules, it should be fine letting them roaming freely inside the house.

Nic: It turns out only Autumn is on heat not both tongue.gif but if wrapping her coat before letting her wear the diaper it will looks funny laugh.gif

Muchan, weebo drinks from bottle..i just change weebo food to Addiction Salmon..better for her coat & there is not much smell for the poo & mouth.i did wipe her mouth..izzit becoz of the tears..but no stain..

I dont think tear stains have anything to do with area around her mouth turn yellow. Tear stains means tear stains and mostly it happen around the eyes area only. Since all the possibilities I mentioned are not the cause, the only source of its turning yellow, is either, she drools (can turn fur around her mouth to yellow/wet), or cleans her self as in tend to lick the area around her mouth.

The yellowish part is at the cheek..left & right & below mouth. I assuming she plays with water or lick herself..coz before i wipe her, o felt the fur is wet..althought im using whitening shampoo it only works when bath after that all back again..body & legs part ok..just the face will make her messy..

Don't use too much whitening shampoo. It will made the coat turn dry. Advisable is once per 2 weeks? Also try to dilute it with water before applying to her coat. I stop using whitening shampoo 3 weeks ago and autumn's coat is not as dry as it used to be.

Nicole: what time will u be at the show tomorrow? I'll be there around 11.30 I think.

Normally each time after drying the face, i'll comb in some whitening powder.... 1 is for whitening purpose another is for keeping the area dry abit longer.... 1 full tub of madan whitening powder can really last a long time....

What vitamin supplement you feed her?
I used to fed Autumn heartgard every month but with more dogs I fed them 2-3 months once as I still left some drontal dewormer so it doesnt really matter actually xD

I fed drontal as dewormer and heartgard. Buu never fed both together. You can actually fed either one, its okay. I used to fed heartgard only but bought some Drontal from the Pets World. Drontal a lil bit ok for me than heartgard cuz its a tablet and 1 tablet I can feed A&J each half tablet so its not so costly compare to heartgard xD

The things is, with Heartgard they can eat themself but with Drontal I need to force feed them lol

i thought heartgard is specifically for heartworms while dewomers are for intestinal worms?
anyway, last time i use revolution coz it covers both ticks & fleas problem as well as heartworm protection.... afterall, her body so small size n she hardly go out, so no point giving individual medication which may be too much toxins in her body later.... n 1 vial of revolution for small dogs can last me 3-4 times if i dont accidentally spill it coz the vet gave me a shringe and will calculate the dosage how much to give depending on body weight instead of over giving coz it covers till dogs that are 5kg....

Anyone got experience of when comb maltese's hair downwards, it wont lie down flat? Like there's static on some hair which makes it stand out compared to others.

Any products or ways to reduce it? I'm using CC comb btw.

What comb r u talking about? Pin brush or the flat comb? I used CC Pin brush and so far so good.. Autumn's coat will never stay flat down due to her cotton type so sometimes I dont really pay attention to that. One thing for sure, I bought conditioning spray from Kinzonu and always used it before I comb their hair. The results is good and it makes their coat looks much more softer than before smile.gif
