Why you say she's notti?
*
There's a devil staying inside her beautiful angel's face LOL
when she was a pup till last year, she will scream, shout out loud with her SUPER HIGH PITCH voice whenever I'm going out from my room, either go downstairs, go to school, etc etc as long as I was out from my room she will shout till I came back -.-
shout not bark! cuz she knows she cannot bark so she shout like those voice kena smack or in pain sweat.gif not only that, whenever I put her inside her pen she will also scream until she was out of the pen -.-"" For the past year, I've been lost of idea on how to train her to at least be quiet inside her pen until I realize one thing. She will shout or scream because she doesnt want to be left alone inside my room! doh.gif

This is the reason I began to look for another maltese to teman her which I ended up adopting Jasmine. Now the situation has changed lol autumn no longer bark or shout like before even if I put her inside her pen for a week but now Jasmine is the one who will bark whenever my phone rings or when I'm out to school or for dinner laugh.gif and when I came back home both will jump so happily to be hug by me xDD

I know this is actually anxiety of separation but I think getting 2nd maltese to teman autumn is a good thing after all.. cuz I finally get to see Jasmine's real character which is not that different from autumn; attention seeker LOL

So far, I'm glad that autumn doesnt like to bite anything like wires or stuff that she saw on the floor since she was a pup till now. kekeke

2nd time, he do marking everywhere in my house.  rclxub.gif
3rd time, he pee wit his leg up.. doh.gif

for the pee and poo part, im still very headache....
once i let him out of his playpen, he will start to do marking...
but in fact, he know where he shd pee.
under my observation, he will go back to his cage to pee and poo.
but once i m not lookin at him, he will do marking...

why???? last time, touffy is a good boy...
he will watch tv with me and play with himself when im busy..
*
I can't give u the right answer because my kids are both girls xD so honestly what I'm gonna say is based on the readings that I read when I do my research tongue.gif

as far as I know, some dogs will do marking when u bring them outside or play that has others dog's smell or pee xD but there is also some case like yours, mark in the house xD for this, u gotta wait White Palace to help u answer xDD

but for pee with one leg up, I got read before somewhere that say if ur dog start to do marking, some will also start to pee with one leg up smile.gif

peak_wei88 & kinzonu: What treats are you using?? I wanted to get yoghurt drops for my baby but the pet shop person said i shouldn't because she's still a puppy (turning 4 months) and she might dowan to eat her usual kibble after that. I bought chew bones as treats for her, but she gets angry when i take it away from her! sad.gif
*
that's call an aggressive towards food or something like that. Forgot the name xD
When she gets angry and try to show her teeth or try to bite u when u took her treats, toys, food u gotta train her to not do that.
If not later when she getting older, she will really be protective over her stuff. My girl also like that last time. Autumn will try to bite me when I want to take her rawhide bones but white palace help me teach or train her that day so now I can take whatever inside her mouth whenever I want. Last time, I touch the rawhide also cannot -.-""

cute!!  biggrin.gif

if i tie up my touffy hair like tis his will keep scratching until he get rid of the rubber band...  sweat.gif
*
You have to scold him whenever he scratch his hair cuz some might not get used to it or it will became habit. Like mine last time also like to scratch whenever I tied her hair up, now no more scratching but she likes to push her head on her bed or my bed and then in a minute she'll became a ghost dog with all her face cover by her own hair hahaha

QUOTE(peak_wei88 @ Jul 29 2010, 04:52 PM)

but the problem is the process while i help him to tie..
is so difficult...
he dun let me tie up...
so notty..

hehe....
*
what u can do is, try to tie his hair when u saw he was nearly sleeping/tired. You let him play until he was tired then u try to tie his hair that time. This is because when he was soooooooo tired, he will just let u do his hair and wont really move alot, after sometimes he might get used to let u tie his hair =]

sometimes when u tie too tight it will made them feels uncomfortable =]

The best is u tied only 3 or 4 times. I mean when u want to tied their hair u tie the rubber band for about 3 times like that so it wont cause them to feel uncomfortable or too tight for them

I wonder why people always think that maltese = must be fully white and those with some brown patches is not acceptable or whatever reason u could think of sweat.gif

As far as I know, puppy who had either light or very visible dark patches on their fur means the parents pigmentation is too strong that some of the pup might be affected and I don't see anything wrong with that wink.gif and yes, some might turn to white while some might not and I'm proudly announce here that autumn is a pure maltese thou she still has her brown patches and honestly, she looks awesome with that look smile.gif

for those who has not met my girl, here are some pics to refer to

Her 1st day at home,

u can see she still have those patches around her body and basically me n my mom thinks she looks cute with those un-balanced patches lol thou I've been told that the fur 'might' turn to white when she turn adult as her father's also has some patches which turns white later on. No offense to anyone. I just wanted to show my girl's pic as I think some ppl still confuse and think that maltese should have fully white fur and I do know some puppies still have their patches when they turn adult like autumn & touffy. So I guess, it doesnt matter if ur pup have those brown patches as long as u get it from reputable breeder unless if u really want fully white maltese biggrin.gif

btw, who u get ur pup from?

From the malteses I see before, some brown patches will turn white, some wont. One of my maltese, can see his fur turn from light brown to white and a few months later, its brown again. I find the patches cute though.  tongue.gif

May i ask how much u paid for this pup? Reputable breeders usually charge reasonable price for pet quality unless u are referring to show quality dog. Better get a little more expensive healthy dog than unknown breeders who breeds various breeds. Just my opinion.  smile.gif
*
let me guess...... it should be GIZMO~~~ icon_rolleyes.gif

i'm interested in looking for a toy dog, maybe maltese or yorkshire.... but i'm confused with some terms and why have a large price gap.... what is mal ch and what is top maltese? usually getting from champion parents a show quality will have what price and pet quality will have what price? how about getting from normal parents?
*
I guess mal champion and top maltese should be the same? no?
as far as I know, mal champion means the parents or at least the family line was from the champion dog. The breeder show their dogs and they won the title "champion". Puppies bred from this champion dogs usually cost more esp pups that have show quality.

Normal parents basically means pet quality which is more cheaper. If you plan to show ur dog u may opt for show quality pups but if just for companion, I think pet quality is enuf?

is it ethical for the breeder/seller to choose which vet for you to bring ur newly bought pup for checkup or can we as buyer choose on our own which vet we want to visit? coz wat if the seller already made dealings with the vet to fake a healthy report?
*
Im not talking bout ethical or not but some breeder/seller might recommend you to their own vet and some will just let you know which one you can bring ur pup too. Either both you, as a customer is always has your own choice, to follow them or to find your own vet smile.gif

Hi all,

I would like to inquire if I shave my 2 year old maltese to botak, is there any side effect when the fur grow back?
Will the hair become curly?
Thank you
*
If you shave off the fur, the new fur wont be straight anymore, it will turn curly as the texture been shaved off.
My girl also kena shave and now her new fur become curly and kinda rough so I gave her skin n coat supplement and also apply silk spirit oil after bath. What's ur reason to shave off the fur? if u just want to save the fur i suggest to do regular trimming rather than shave off everything.

Btw, I bring Jasmine for hair cut last week and it came off as poodle cut laugh.gif
and I plan to spay her soon as well =]

become poodle ald.
y u shave jasmine???
*
That's not really call shave actually.. or particularly shave the face?
I need to do it cuz the tear stain is way to horrible -.-"" no matter how i wipe and gave supplement to her, the tears cant seem to stop. Plus her eyes kinda sensitive I guess, as her eyes will easily became red when there's a single fur poke the eyes, so I thought of shaving the face fur for now n see how it goes when it grows back smile.gif

Hi.. New malteses owner here. My malteses are 3-4 months old. They seem like dont like to take bath and been blowed up. May i know how to clean up the brown color hair beside the mouth. It's very difficult to clean it up.
*
autumn also doesnt really like it when its shower time and she 'hate' the dryer. But will tolerate it as long as I dont blow it directly to her face and not to close either. Regarding the mouth fur, make sure you wipe/clean the mouth and the area around that whenever he/she finish eating. This will reduce the stain a bit.

Just shower my girl and snap her pic smile.gif

Surprisingly she behave quiet good except for 'marking' non-stop sweat.gif and sometimes ignore my call when her curiosity is attacking her laugh.gif

welcome to the maltese thread.... smile.gif

from my reading, its best to spay/neuter before their 1st cycle or around 6 mths of age.... but if you decide to do it after they reach adulthood also can 1....
*
the maltese is male la xD
anyway, I dun think spaying before 1st heat is recommended? I mean I read before that some says spaying after they finish their 1st heat is actually recommended because the 1st cycle is actually gives the hormone to grow so spaying after that is actually better than before the heat. as for neutering the male, should be about 8 months plus?

peak_wei88 : I bring them to Ruby's Resort, cherating, kuantan there. It's the only resort that allows pets and its my 2nd time there last week smile.gif

I normally bring my girl to Desa Park, went to BU park once as well but based on my experiences, u will see more dogs n diff breeds on desa park compare to BU park xD
