tongue.gif  Feel free to propose and vote for the idea please. For example colored or gray scale, hi-tech or sleek, basically just name it and I'll do it preferably if there is reference. In the future if you guys need any help on touch up photo or refining the sharpness or color I would be willing to help too. Some minor tweak in Photoshop will enhance the image by far therefore enhancing our Optimus too  rclxm9.gif

Thanks, Zeph. Could you come up with a few designs (if you have the time?) then perhaps you can send them to me? I can perhaps scribble something, but will need a few days to conjure up something..hehe.

Went to Klang to install a brake pedal lock today. Long story short, found exactly what I was looking for. It's called Aorto Lock and it's from Thailand. It uses a double lock system with triple locking mechanism. Comes with Y-splitter socket for disabling ignition (no wire cutting). Also comes with multi-color LED when lock is engaged to alert that the lock is ON. Got it for RM450. Thought this might interest some of you here.
Got a few of questions...
1) how long did it take from start to finish for this setup?
2) warranty period for the lock
3) how does it work? don't quite understand fully. will there be any free play when locked? or does it bother with ur leg when you drive?
4) any drilling or welding to attach the lock to the car?

I was thinking to provide a few option of design at first though but before that maybe we should see what does the majority vote for? Like the criteria of the design at least so when we moved on it'll be easier and we'll be sure that we're on the right track.
*
Yup. Most definitely. If you could come up with some intiial designs then circulate to the bunch of us, I think we can get things going. Whenever you're free, alright? Since we know you're quite bz with the advert. shooting at the moment. smile.gif

Looks like I am the only one who doesn't interested in brake lock eh... For me it is still breach-able easily... But anyway, good effort...

I agree. If a thief wants to steal your car, there are many ways.
But I guess a little investment like this will give you a little peace of mind as it just makes it "that much" harder for the thief to get your car.
A simple analogy would be like your house lock. If you just lock your door, it's very easy for the burglar to pick on the lock, but if you have a lock over it, it'll make it a bit harder for him to get in.

I wouldn't mind fixing one, but I guess I'll do it if I can get a group of ppl doing it.. if we can drive down the price, then I think it's worth it.

Well done, Scott.

As per what mixo posted earlier, we TT almost every night.
Location varies.
Scott, feel free to gimme a buzz, anytime, in case you guys would wanna meet up again & (in TeamCity "terms") drink tea, blow water & fart fart...
Hahaha...

Take care all of you, congratulations on a new club.
We'll see u soon...

P.S.: With such a high level of anticipation, no wonder out-of-a-sudden i see so many "familiar" newbie names who suddenly had to join lowyat.net...

Let's start a Group Buy (BG)...
I am interested too... rclxms.gif

Yea, 'twas fun to meet so many of you guys (tho next time bring some gals too..hehe!)
Hope you guys had fun at Genting.
Wow. TT almost every night (spa visits? whistling.gif ) I don't think I can keep up with all of you since I get back from work late most of the nights.
But we'll definitely join up with you guys when we have our next TT session.

In relation to the brake lock,
If you're interested then I'll put you in the list.
Guess once we hit 3 - 4, I can contact the shop to see what's the best price that we can get smile.gif

Reg brake lock, im queries how the installatioin, seen from pic only bind by screw. Any comment

We're thinking of the TT on Friday night. Still can't make it? sad.gif

In relation to the brake lock, I think it's fixed on with screws. But i read in one of the posts that the screws are concealed during its 'lock position'?
Maybe foocy and sebaver can verify this? smile.gif

Yes sysh, the screws are 'hidden' in its locked position

I'm not saying it's impossible for a determined thief to break/saw/detach it but it makes it quite difficult to do so. Besides, there's nothing that's 100% foolproof. You are buying added peace of mind and time to stall the thief. IMO, this Aorto Lock is as good as they come for pedal locks. No messy wires cutting, no obstruction to pedals, no voiding warranty. I'm satisfied with it.
I see. anyway it looks sturdy to me.. just a bit pricy..hmm
btw, is it possible for you to check with the shop on whether there are group discounts?

im extending my personal invitation to all hc3 members?
i am very sure scott and the other hc3 members tht we met the lastt knows our intention very well.
with 360 members and rapidly growing i am very sure Teamcit (which the only 1 out of 3 clubs recognized by Honda Malaysia) does not need any promoting.

Im here with with nothing but good intention and to learn/share knowledge.
If that is too much to ask for, then i humbly apologize and will refrain myself and my fellow members from posting here anymore

cheers,
mixo

hey mixo!
nice to see you in our thread.
don't mind sharinganez, he was just kidding smile.gif

thanks for the invitation. got a bit of a shock with the size of the fonts..haha!
initially i thought steven said that the OTT would be next friday, ie. 6/03/09..
but no worries.. we can always go for both. i'll holler out to the other HC³ members to see whether they can make it.
hopefully a few more others can make it, as you can see we've still got many members who have yet to get their rides..
looking forward to the OTT. nod.gif

HKS filtration is bad but performance its slightly better as it allows more air to flow thru the filter. less restrictive=less filtration. I'm currently on HKS but thinking of changing to mugen drop in.
*
hey bro. are you talking about the HKS Super Power Flow? or the drop-in direct replacement?
How'd we clean it.. ie. like K&N, you have the Recharger Kit.

both types. its a two layer sponge with diff density. HKS is dry filter type while K&N is oil-based. HKS just take out n soak it in soup solution n dry clean it kautim. K&N as you know uses oil solution to clean it. Theres an argument here that those oil will get into your TB n clog the TB later on.
*
For a second I was thinking, soup solution? tongue.gif
Any soap solution is fine? or do we have to get some special type..
About the oil getting into the TB? Well... haven't had that bad exp before since I had mine in the old car for say 3+ yrs ago (unless the process takes > 5 years to clog)..

I don't know, need to check.
So i am thinking if i can consolidate up to about 10 set, i will contact them again.

A couple things to note:

1. I think we need to establish whether the Aorta Lock is a "one size fits all". I suspect it isn't.
We'll have to wait for you to check on this for us.

2. Won't be an easy job to gather 10 ppl to buy the locks, I recommend a separate thread to be created tho, if possible? smile.gif
I wouldnt mind getting it at that rate, however it's probably the time delay which will affect my decision..

Is PPS worth? it seem like most has bad experience on it after few weeks/times of washing
*
Crap.. my internet d/c'ed when I pressed sent.
Anyhow.. here goes again.

IMHO, I think the PPS is worth the amount (tho a bit pricy).
Advantages noted:
1) easy to wash the car (30 - 40 mins, from start to dry..plus wheels)
2) still retains its shiny look, but less of its 'smoothness' though

What I noted though,
1) It's not as smooth as waxing again (expected), but the shine compensates for it.
2) The claim of the 'water-beading' is overrated, but as compared to my bro's NHC.. mine has more water beads, but nothing to shout about.
3) It doesn't help with marks left by bird shit, I have one tiny spot where the bird shit landed.. dunno how to get rid of that stain (only visible at close up)
4) feel good factor, ppl always look at my car quite shiny when i go to work.. thumbup.gif

So, at the end of the day.. it's up to you and how you take care of your car. Do note that you need to send your car back for maintenance every 6 - 9 months and it will set you back RM80 - RM100. Personally, I will send it back say 9 months time since I constant clean my car with the recommended pH balanced soap.

Also to note that PPS DOESN'T protect your paint from stone chips, gum or bird shit or deep scratches. That one, you might need the 3M Scotchgard which will put you back RM2,500 just for the front end of your car. The choice is yours.
