Did you take any before and after pics of your car? I tried taking some "before" right before i sent my car in, but it wasn't very clear, the sunlight was too bright, thus all you can see in the picture is just sunlight reflecting off my 2-day old paint.!!

I'm sending my car in for my first service on Wednesday, was told my by SA that the SC will wash our cars for us. Maybe i'll post my "after" pics then.!

Yeah, have to do a maintenance in 6 months time - they will put a sticker in your car to remind you when is it due... I was told it'll cost RM100..

You will still have to wash with car shampoo, else the dirt won't come off. But yes, the dirt does come off much easier. I'm still using the car shampoo I have at home first, once that's finished then maybe I'll buy the shampoo which they sell at ShineNShield...

Haha, I see.!! I know what waiting is like, i sent my car in, and i went back at 4pm thinking i'd only have to wait 30 mins - 1 hour, and I was already bored to death after 20 mins.. lol..

After the PPS you will see how water runs off the paint of your car very nicely.! I haven't tried having tree sap/bird droppings on my car, so can't comment on the difference it makes yet... But dust and other dirt will still accumulate on the surface of your paint even with PPS... Therefore you'll still need to wash and shampoo every now and then to ensure that the surface is thoroughly clean after that...

In any case I was told that if the shine is still very nice and glossy, you can even go back after 8 months.. What I am not sure is whether the warranty will still be valid if you don't go back for say, 2 years, and then suddenly go back to them with a prob..

With the 3M scotchgard - the surface of the paint will be covered to protect from stone chips, but I guess the next time send it in to ShineNShield after 6 months, they won't touch that area covered?

Sure got! Keep the car at home and not drive it! That way confirm no stone chips. Stone chips are a part of driving and almost unavoidable, unless you have the dough to splash on Scotchgard. And if god forbid, the car gets into an accident (major or minor) on the bumper, have to peel off the Scotchgard or else cannot paint over them. After that, apply another layer of Scotchgard again ah? Lots of money spent, ain't it?

I think all of us sayang our new cars but I think we also shouldn't go overboard. Let's just enjoy the ride that our new cars will provide us and take good care of them.

Front Strut Bar
Mounted at the front chassis for strengthening purposes. To eliminate all the suspension noise and more stability during acceleration, hard driving and braking ( simulating race track conditions ).

Rear Strut Bar

There's actually one bad thing about the 3M scotchgard or clear bra. If you go near the car, the protection film is quite obvious.

Also don't waste time with 2 point strut bar, want to do then do 4 point and make sure your car boot has a bar installed too. I think you can also go for 19mm instead of 16mm ARB, better handling. It's best to do this one month after you've gotten your car, that way you will feel the difference immediately.

I understand the front strut bar and lower arm bar but the rear strut bar I don't quite understand. The rear strut bar is fitted in the boot right? Wouldn't it block space meant for luggage/storage? Can be quite inconvenient right? Never seen it before, so don't know what it looks like fitted.

It's just a long piece of cylindrical bar that's fit inside the boot and it's straight unlike the room bar. It's usually placed at the very top end portion of the boot, almost touching the ceiling so there's no issues with space. Depending on the car design, there maybe screw holes for you to lock it to the chassis, otherwise, you will have to drill a small hole to lock the rear strut bar in. If you don't want to drill holes then the next best option is installing Anti-roll bar.

It's at the very rear and top corner of the boot. You will not lose any boot space.

I had mine done in the green portion, though it was in a different car. I had to drill holes. I believe you could do the same. But if you don't want to, just install ARB.
