Don't panic!
It's normal for the device display to blank during the update.
It's normal for some PC Suite versions to display "Nokia N82 (RM-313) disconnected" as the update begins.

guy's if i compare N82 with N85
got any idea?
cause i wanna buy a new hp
*
Depends on your own preference. For me, I still prefer N82:
1) I like candybar, I don't like sliding
2) I don't like the two way sliding like N96? and I very rare use it as music player.
3) 2.4" vs 2.6" screen, not much difference to me. OLED screen, never see or use before.
4) N82 has dual processor and more internal RAM. Better and faster response.
5) Xenon flash which is sometimes useful, except the stupid red-light which makes the photos reddish.

N82 that don't have the feature I want:
1) N85 is better with HSDPA 3.6Mbps, but currently not sure Maxis/Celcom/DiGi supports it ?
2) N85 has better 1200mAh battery compared to N82 1050mAh

5 vs 2. N82 wins on split-decision for me thumbup.gif

Better if you can take one with LED and no flash. Then at least people will know the comparison between no flash, LED and Xenon.

Take lah for comparison tonight:
1) Touch pro with flash
2) Touch pro without flash
3) N82 with flash
4) N82 without flash

No need complete dark. 70-80% darkness is enough.

Side track: WinXP, Win 2000, Win 2000 server, Win 2003 server are all running on Win2000 platform.

Win Vista is on a new platform, Win Vista platform.

The replacement upgrade (coming later this year) is Windows 7, which is develop on Win Vista platform also.

Platform = something like a car chassis. You can develop multiple Proton Wira version on the chassis. But the New Proton Saga is not on Wira chassis anymore. rclxub.gif

I read somewhere Nokia not going to release Xenon flash h/p camera anytime soon. Someone posted the link before. Even the higher end N96, N97 or similiar range N85 all don't have Xenon. Not even those in their future pipeline.

FURGEDDABOUTIT whistling.gif either buy it or rot in hell cool2.gif i don't feel any pinch of agony at all breaking 90% of my bank 4 this baby soon cool.gif

Before you buy, evaluate whether you really like N82 and features

For me:
1) Candy bar form factor
2) Symbian S60v3
3) All-in-one: 3G/HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, camera, etc.
4) Xenon flash
5) Functionality over fashion/style
6) Not too thick and not to big (L x W)

Not:
1) Low batt life - drain fast
2) 2.4" screen only
3) no touch screen
4) rice keys
5) stupid red camera light doh.gif

If you notice, music/mp3 or video/movies is not my favourites. Games only sometimes when I'm outside/travelling. Otherwise, play PS3 with 42" screen at home smile.gif GTA4 rock!
