Hi,

I just ordered 2140 last week and was pretty excited with the purchase. However I have 2 things that I would like to point out that kinda pour cold water on my excitement. sad.gif

1. The Silver Color Carrying Case
Does anyone got the free carrying case? (Supposedly for the first 50 orders only)

2. Screen Resolution
I have read about the non-standard resolution (1024X576) and it seems to cause quite some issues to certain applications? ohmy.gif Maybe I should hold the purchase and wait for the higher resolution version to come out? Any thoughts on this?
*
On the screen resolution, I've personally encountered problem with Firefox during full screen mode whereby you can see part of your desktop on the right hand side of the screen. Thus I've uninstalled Firefox based on that reason and also due to the fact it is the slowest browser on the HP Mini 2140. Watching movie is a whole different story, it displays the movie in full screen without the letterbox.

there are no official price yet as it is not launched in malaysia yet. Only a pre-launch where it is being sold to ambank credit card holders. It is sold at RM1399 to ambank card holders. Said to be rm300 cheaper than market rate. So, market price should be rm1699. And I estimate street price should be rm1599.

Yup Firefox is slow.. Google Chrome is the fastest, but my default browser is IE7. It's surprisingly fast, supports full screen browsing and it can integrate with Norton Internet Security 09.

Info as shared by surf476, if referred to the Retail Price column; it should be around that range for WinXP config. Which I think is cheap!! thumbup.gif

as i have said, you can't buy it from retail shops(at least at this moment)

if you are interested in this model, you can always call HP Toll Free line at 1800 88 6998 for more information

as i know, you can upgrade it within 3 months from your original purchase date.

referring to the above pic i think you better call HP Toll Free because the care pack of HP minis may be different from the normal desktop/laptop
