QUOTE(paskal @ Jan 7 2009, 01:12 PM) with the current technology? i don't think a better replacement would come that fast. maybe soon they'll come up a touch screen netbook>? or 2140 with their touchsmart? coolthere's a benchmark that i've read somewhere putting the new dual core atom (4 virtual cores with HT) against this N270 single core atom (2 virtual core with HT). not much performance increase with 25% less battery time. even intel admitted for people to expect that it sucks 25% more battery. and the new dual core atom losses in office benchmark. the newer N530 uses max 2W of power. N270 uses max 2.5W. the newer Poulsbo US15W chipset (that does HD decoding on chip) doesn't support 2GB ram and is limited to PATA interface. so something better than a magnesium alloy cased 2140 with 16:9 wider screen? could be. definitely. but not with the upcoming models that i've read about. |

QUOTE(Enigmare @ Mar 15 2009, 12:42 AM) To the Mini 2140 owners: Just asking, do u guys prefer the 2133's design over the 2140? IMO, I find the 2133 better looking... u like the speakers grill le?Added on March 15, 2009, 1:17 am QUOTE(mfa97 @ Mar 15 2009, 12:16 AM) Guys.. finally got mine today at Singapore IT Show.. wow congrats. you be the first one to own 2140 in msia?Bought it for SG$799, but as I'm traveling by flight; got tax rebate of SG$37, so its SG$762.. The system came with free upgrade to 2GB of RAM and a HP slipcase.. Whats more awesome its international warranty.. buy it guys when it arrives in Malaysia.. Added on March 15, 2009, 12:35 am I'm assuming you're not sure how to change the RAM.. if yes download the >>HP Mini 2140 Maintenance Manual<< The RAM is located under the keyboard, basically you have to remove the keyboard to access.. here's how they've done it.. Step 1: Remove 3 screws located at the battery bay. The srews are indicated with a small "keyboard icon" beside it. Step 2: Carefully pry-out the keyboard, starting from the top. Bit by bit it will come loose.. Step 3: After the keyboard removed, HDD and RAM is visible for servicing/replacing. After replacing, just reverse back the steps. QUOTE(Enigmare @ Mar 15 2009, 06:41 PM) Yeah I have... Just that I don't understand why HP has to make the design so boring... If only they threw in the 2140's specs and the 2133's imprint design, I'd buy one. 2133 got imprint meh? 2133 looks exactly like 2140 except the speaker grill le or do u mean mini1000? |

QUOTE(dawn152 @ Mar 17 2009, 01:25 PM) sorry to be a little ot, but is the price much different from current retail? i'm actually thinking of buying the hp touchsmart or some sort of desktop media centre if the price is good. i think hp will have some old touchsmart model there.as for the mininote 2140, i'm still interested but what with the rumors going around of apple actually producing their own line of netbooks, i suppose i have to to keep this purchase on hold, indefinitely. apple? n the price? if u expect apple's netbook look like mini mba then its going to be 4k?if look like mini pro then 5k? if look like normal mb then 2140 nicer i think... |
