it doesnt matter really... the synaptic mouse drive will be detected by the windows update later. it's ya choices to install or not. i did not as i dont like that drive. it slow down my mouse movement. tongue.gif

GuN, there is few type. the cheapest 6cell is 4800, this one below RM200 free shipping. most common is 5200. cost slightly above RM200. free shipping too. 5600 one is rare a bit. cost more than RM220. free shipping as well.

the HP origina one is 4800 if i am not mistaken.

not yet install bluetooth as to install bluetooth u need to take out the rubber feet below. those screw hidden inside the rubber. have to remove it first. however... ram is easier to install.

5600 on. bought from ebay

Just wondering, can ask for this package from HP (they customize for u), or have to buy the basic one, then customize by ourself?

Tq.

has anyone try 7 RC on this machine? any performance boost compares with previous build?
*
the aero seems to perform better in 2140 now and over some tunning... lowest RAM require when idle is around 410-420MB with sidebar on.

i disbale the windows experience and this boost my 2140 performance well. totally disable the homegroup function and allow me now to do files and others sharing under workgroup with others OS like 98, 2000, XP and Vista.

indeed i have even give up the dual boot concept within XP and 7 and remain only 7 for both my 2140 and notebook. this 7 works perfectly on both my machine.

within XP/Vista compare with Win 7 RC, the effect is significant?

how many processes on start up and ram usage while idle(before tuning)?
*
u can see a very significant effect within 7 and vista. as both of them are similar. XP and 7 is different class.

start up for 7 ultimate before tuning while idle is around 500MB-550MB

i use both the A brand before. at the end. i stick with HP. because. the keyboard, the aluminium casing and the express slot.

the express slot have optional for me to add something.

the aluminium are stylish for professional(like me :-p)

the keyboard are easier to type.

mine is a Vista Home Premium notebook, not 2140  biggrin.gif

start up is already 800+... even after i uninstalled symantec ....
*
u use dvd restore? dell laptop?? it's always advise that only install clean OS and add in the drivers later. maybe u wanna try this method first.

those pre-installed application most of it is take lots of resources. i got a friend brought a dell laptop and installed with the restore dvd ended up fresh installation without install anything take up 800MB RAM.

no matter u are C2D or Atom. RAM occupied is almost same after install.

compaq CQ40.  because i read from the Windows 7 RC site, it stated that i can directly install it on an existing Vista OS.  hmm... means you advise me to do a clean install?

but it would take a lot of time to reinstall the drivers............ sad.gif
*
i dont advise u upgrade. best do clea installation and install driver seperately.
