I also thinking of getting a H-Line. Went to 2 proton edar to check yesterday and today d. The SA also not sure when H-Line will have stock.
Should i just wait for H-Line or settle for a M-Line?

Difference 3k for rear solid disc brakes, ABS+EBD, remote trunk. Should i just wait and get H-Line with these?

Oh, the SA told me also, if i can get a new car registered before May 31st, he can give me RM1000 worth of service voucher which is valid until end of 2010. He say can use this voucher when servicing.

btw, the SA also can just offer tinting voucer - rm150 for normal tint and rm300 for the security tint type. says their tinter is Cool World. is it worth going there to get a tint done or cheaper elsewhere?

another SA from the other proton edar say can give me free security tint 4 mil. He says 4 mil means 4 layer wor. it covers all the door windows and rear screen. front windscreen not covered coz JPJ can't approve it. is this deal better or worst? coz not sure what tint they will put, maybe some cheapo 1 later.

Thanks in advance for all your advices.

i just did a simple search on fuel consumption in this topic and it seems that you guys are getting from 320km - 420km for rm50. is that correct?
well, i know it depends on how a person drive, long distance or city driving etc, but i wonder what's the average fuel consumption for say a 50% city 50% highway driving.

i'm going to book a HL and willing to wait for it. Trading in my manual kelisa too. So just want set my expectation right on the FC, coz changing from small little kelisa to persona, sure the FC very different.

for my kelisa now, i drive 90% highway daily and can achieve average 550km for rm55 @1.80/litre. and i drive around 110-125km/h, average 120km/h.

guys, i was just checking out the motor trader website and found that many new persona ad there.
the ad ranges from 100% loan, interest rate from 3%, 1 even say 2.75%, discount can be up to 11k, cash rebate, free gift, high trade in value etc..
looks too good to be true. are these for real? what's the catch? surely got terms n condition but haven't tried calling n asked yet.

would like to know what you guys think. trustable? or best bet is go back to proton edar?

btw, they offer my 03' manual kelisa 17k. reasonable or not?

1 more question. i read from another forum that a forumer asked around january this year whether the HL and SE comes tinted from factory and ppl are saying yes to it.
is this true? does this mean we can save on tinting?

toyota offer my 01 kelisa for 19k, dude.
*
thanks for sharing.

my kelisa only shortcoming i can see is it has no sport rims. other than that, there're of course scratches here and there.
no mechanical or electronics issue.

seems like that proton panel want to squeeze me here. i will try to push up the trade in value.

does toyota offer trade in price higher than other car manufacturers or they should all be around the same?

when the SC service your persona, do they use semi-syn or normal oil by default?
if we buy our own full-syn oil and ask them use also can right? then next time service, not necessary change the engine oil so fast coz it can last much longer right?

haven't got my car yet, just asking first.
first service is at 1K km, so i dont think change of engine oil is required right?
2nd service at 5K km right? so maybe use full-syn from then onwards?

guys, want to ask, did any of you buy your cars using the exchange program by proton. that's the program that accepts cars older than 10 years for rm5k.

i'm giving my dad's old volvo and trade in my kelisa for a new persona. so one of the requirement for the exchange program is to have a "angkat sumpah" (take oath/swearing) document that says that my dad is giving his old car to proton for scraping. i would like to know where i can do this "angkat sumpah" thing.

i live in damansara utama area, so wondering if there's anywhere near there that i can do this.

appreciate if anyone can help out here.

thanks.

Hi, seems like Persona is a good car. Would like to ask can we see the rear when reverse as i drove my dad's company car gen2 which i had hard time trying to reverse it cuz i cant see the rear ...
*
ya, it has a high butt... so can't really see things behind the rear bumper when reversing. have to rely on the reverse sensors

guys, want to ask, when you get the official letter from Proton confirming the acceptance of your booking, there's a tentative delivery month stated in it. do we really need to wait until the mentioned month??

mine is expected to be by July... which is too long. then i called the SA and tell him about it and he says he will check the system tomorrow. I really need to push to get it faster coz i want to get the rm1000 service voucher and it must be before 31st May.
Moreover, it was him who told me that the Haze Blue Persona SE has stocks as shown in their system. Really hope can get before end of May.

my SA called back. he said the delivery by July is worst case scenario coz Proton dont want to over commit which I already guessed.
I'm asking him to get me the car soon before 31st May so that I can get the service voucher.

i got my persona about 3 weeks after booking..
but..mine is MLine..ready stock
the 3 weeks for loan approval..E-hakmilik..K1..PDI..tinted works & car registration.

it should take longer for new booking..but 3 months is too long.
the SE already launch last year..why does it take 3 month just for shipping?  hmm.gif
then..how much longer you need to wait for PDI and car registration? 1-2 weeks more?  hmm.gif

you should check with your SA..
call him everyday..push him and check the update..hehe  tongue.gif
*
Yes, I know MLine got many stock now but since I'm buying a car and going to be bearing the loan for some years, I prefer to go for higher spec. Want the ABS+EBD for safety too laugh.gif

You did your tinting with the voucher given? You went to do it yourself or ask the SA to do it?
I think I will go pick and do it myself at the shop coz can't trust SA on this.

Btw, which tint you installed?

the tinting was a free gift from my SA..  nod.gif
he did it for me...the tinting shop just beside the showroom
the tinted film is Raytech.

if i'm not mistaken..the SE does come with tinted glass right?
*
Yes, SE and HLine does come with tinted glass. but i'm sure it's not a good 1. so thinking of changing it to a better 1 ma but need to find a place where the workmanship is nice coz they first need to tear off the original piece.

A question, is double layer tint legal?  sweat.gif

i think it's legal as long as when they use their device to test for visibility/transparency, it's below the limit allowed.

Added on April 27, 2009, 2:21 amgot some questions:

1. How much will persona full tank cost?
2. How much is the current price of persona's GPS device?

Thanks!
*
Persona fuel tank capacity is 50L.
so full tank at current fuel price will cost 1.80 x 50 = rm90

*
not sure also. depending on car, when the low fuel light indicator comes up, you may still travel around 30km.

best way to really know is, keep maybe 2 litre of fuel in tin/bottle and bring along with u in car. then when low fuel light indicator lights up, reset your trip meter to 0. then just drive until no petrol and the engine dies off. that way, you will get a more accurate indication of how much more fuel is left / distance can be covered when the indicator comes up. the petrol u keep is for u to pump back to jalan back to nearest petrol station laugh.gif

should we put some strong double sided tape? hmm.gif
not glue, so that we can still take it off if we want to.
