I found some half day whale watching @ AUD80-90/pax for half day (4 hours) like paradise whale watching since I dont have time for whole day. Its a bit pricey but we cant get it in m'sia mah. tongue.gif
Anyway I'm still thinking about it since I spend more in my ground arrangement to Tanglooma edi and also the time contraint hmm.gif

You can get Adult in Kids price which is 60AUD for Whale in Paradise with this coupon http://www.yourcoast.com/offers/whales-in-...at-kids-prices/ (830 till 1230 and extra one hour compare to Whale Watching Gold Coast) .
Personally I booked the Whale Watching Gold Coast in groupon which is 49AUD for half day (830 till 1130)

25th nite flight? tongue.gif
I google the temperature, its hovering ard 18-25C. So I imagine it shouldn't be too cold, just cooling, great for outdoor activities thumbup.gif
I booked day tours direct thru the australian company as recommended by a forummer. Buy 2 free 1, so quite ok for me. Cant wait.
Anyway, thanks for the opinion/reassurance on the visa thingy. Hopw we all have loads of fun there rclxm9.gif

Hi, mind sharing the ground itinerary provided by the harmony tour? and what is the cost? thanks..

iinm, winter season over there is on the mid of the year, so no worries on cold weather on the 25th

The ground arrangement is focus on paradise ranch (koalas!! ^^), sea world, movie world and half day tour in city with hotel & transport included.
I booked during matta fair so its quite ok, around RM1.8k? ya, quite ok, better than those tours outside which can roughly cost about RM3k per person!
Hope it helps^^

Me same flight. Normally just sleep or rather take nap for most of the flight time.
Else can share some info & notes for GC as well. tongue.gif
Your ground tour included accommodation? I DIY whole package myself though its quite costly after factoring everything in.

Yup, my ground tour includes accomodation as it is much more convinient...
Really? Usually I thought DIY would be quite ok since you already set your own budget and all...Amounted to how much roughly?

oh My flight + accommodation edi amount to 2.5k. My ground arrangement to currumbine+tropical world+tanglooma+brisbane cost ard 2k. All the cost for 2 pax
The tanglooma trip alone cost ard 800/pax sweat.gif
but the upside is the sand tobogganing & the highlight is hand feed wild dolphin. Hopefully the dolphin comes that day laugh.gif

Hi all,

Am a newbie to this travel forum and hope can share some info with everyone.

lsyeong,

It depends where in Brissy you want to park? For example, parking in Brissy CBD is very expensive, about AUD 40 a day and not sure if they allow overnight parking. And from where to where do you plan to take public transportation? Cause not all places in Brissy have public transport, and some can be quite limited.

Thanks for the link. I'll be there 26-31 this month. but only 5 full days to utilise. Got myself 3 day tours from hinterland (2 tour free1) & so left 2 days to explore, regret din book additional day. 5 days seems not enuff.
I have to cramp in Movieworld, Harbourtown, Pacific Fair, jet boating & hopefully whale watching in 2 days laugh.gif
Anyway, anyone of you know that is it possible to spend a day covering Movieworld, Harbourtown + pacific Fair? If it is, which place to go first? I'm thinking of Harbourtown-Movieworld-Pac Fair on Thursday since that the only day it open till 9pm.

BTW, have u done ur visa? I've done mine thru travel agent, but there's just a email printout indicating my passport details, but no physical visa that I can see or hold. According to her, its like that since the visa edi link all airlines, so there wont be any problem.

Anyone can share their experience? Cos first time travelling to a country that need visa blush.gif

Hi vreis,

It may be quite rush to cramp Movieworld, Harbour Town & Pacific Fair in a day. It's best to get to Movieworld early as the ticket booth can be an extremely long queue. And there's show times which if you want to watch a specific show, then you have to wait. Also, for the rides there might be a queue which would delay your time. Harbour Town is about shopping smile.gif (which you can speed up the shopping process if you only plan to spend 2 hours here for example). What do you plan to do in Pacific Pines? Cause it's a big shopping mall but nothing spectacular (in my opinion).

Hi lsyeong,

Ok the parking price sounds good, but are you serious about taking City Cat whole day? Hehe.. cause when you're on the City Cat you can't see much sad.gif Unless you get down and walk around. You have any particular things/places you wanna visit in Brissy?

lsyeong,

Am not 100% sure about public transportation from 1 place to another which you intend to go. But you can take City Cat and stop at South Brisbane/Bank and The Wheel of Brisbane, South Bank Parklands, QPAC is there. Depending on which day you go, there's a market at South Bank.
Then you can slowly walk to the City (Queen Street Mall) and you can visit the Casino if you like. Then from Queen Street Mall, you can walk/take a bus to the Valley. I've walked from Queen St Mall to Eagle St Pier and its about 20 mins slow walk.

Hmm, but for Story Bridge & Mt Cootha I don't know how to fit that in.

pizi87,

No dairy products or anything with seed (eg, dates), eggs (eg, mooncake). When you come out from the place, there will be 2 queues, once for nothing to declare, and another to declare stuff. I usually won't bring any food into Australia as the lane to declare will have like 50 people in front of you. They've sort of changed the system now. Used to ask each person to show what food they have etc but now they will choose randomly. So sometimes even if you are in the declare lane, they might just ask you to walk through. In Brissy airport, you'll be greeted by a cute beagle or labrador sniffing around. smile.gif

If you bring your bread from Msia, it will be moudly within few days. Groceries here are not very expensive. Go to Coles or Woolworths (supermarkets), and buy their homebrand. And even within the homebrand range, there is a few diff types. Frankly they are very affordable. Taste wise, bearable to quite ok depending on which level of homebrand. You can get some homebrand biscuits for AUD 1.50 or less. If there is an Aldi (also supermarket) near your place, pay them a visit too as their prices are quite competitive.

Weather in Brissy & Gold Coast hasn't been pleasant since last week. Hailstorm in certain parts of Brissy last week and raining in both areas. Night time is cooling, similar to Gentings. Remember to check the weather forcast everyday and dress accordingly. smile.gif

Enjoy your stay smile.gif
