May be you can get for less, Good Luck
Understand in month of May, they are going to have a Panasonic roadshow with many freebies for Panasonic purchase.

Did you check whether is made in Japan?

Did NOT check whether is made in Japan cos the built already not so good - buttons at the back are flimsy too. Short battery life and no HD video recording. The only thing I like about it, is the superb IQ and dual Capture Technology aka Wide Dynamic Range/Pixel Fusion - very good for low light, photography. Unfortunately it is just not right for my family to bring it for holidays.

Then what is your choise? I am also looking for a camera for travelling purpose...

Now with the Panasonic's 33yrs anniversary special offers, that is, with so many freebies, how too resist LUMIX DMC-TZ7.
But do noted this model limitation....
It is not in the same league, Image Quality IQ , as F200EXR or LX3.
It is exactly like PowerShot SX200IS but this Canon model is unable to FOCUS and NO optical zoom during recording video. If you don't want the focus and optical zoom then go for SX200IS b'cos from my experience Canon service is the best.
Lastly, "Generally PnS cameras struggle at capturing low light conditions because of the small image sensor."- TheWandererX

Buying pnS camera is a personnel preference and needs. So please, you go and hold these models(camera that is) in your hand, get a feel, test a few shots and bargain maximum

btw i bought my dslr at CnS coz that time didnt know bout excel but next time sure pay a visit there

actually Cns is quite nice also, just that there is always full of customers, so it is abit difficult if u wan to ask more info about ur kit if u have queries and maybe u have to wait for long there too..other than that, CnS is recommended too..
