QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Jan 3 2009, 10:44 AM) oh i found one great feature on the Nokia 5800 there's a blinking light on the button if you've a missed call or unread message. QUOTE(davidmak @ Jan 3 2009, 10:48 AM) Yes, ala E71 style. But I found the frequency of that blinking or fade-in/out light is a bit slow. actually nokia was bringing tis feature to many phones oredi my 5610 has it as well but same the frequency is slow the most reliable and suitable frequency i found so far is on the 6300 i think all others should take that as an example

I have to press the phone close to ear to get consistent clear sound. mic ok coz people said and i tested using second phone people can hear. but if use loudspeaker ok. ap is it? if so then u probably were getting a defected phone from initial release batch This post has been edited by feimeng: Jan 3 2009, 11:59 AM

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jan 3 2009, 01:49 PM) No, it won't. Your ROM storage already has v11 so it will re-setup from that source. Don't worry. No, you're not unlucky. If I am not mistaken, everyone will eventually see this problem including myself. I see this case being very widespread in Nokia discussion forums. Just be a little patient, it'll be solved on firmware updates sooner or later. i dun think it is something related to firmware because ppl find out that there is something wrong with the touching point of the earpiece and the circuit board if you're no problem in reading chinese this is it some sources for ur reference http://bbs.dospy.com/thread-2600542-1-11.htmlhttp://www.dospy.com/bbs/thread-2615092-1-1.html

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jan 3 2009, 05:16 PM) In that case, I would suggest you to go with N85. The Nokia 5800's camera is something you do not wish to see. Hehehe! Seriously, the N85's camera capabilities are better. I mean that what every basic camera should do. The Nokia 5800's camera is toned down to an extend which is well... not optimistic. Don't get me wrong, the Nokia 5800's hardware is more than capable. Its the software. yes, indeed 5800 hardware is capable to perform well enough to accept but just need some more hardwork on software tweaking 5800's camera is actually has a not bad module just software and the back cover to bring down its performance...

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jan 3 2009, 05:25 PM) Yeah when I see it is capable of taking VGA resolution at 30fps videos, I know it has something up its sleeve in terms of hardware. But the lower than expected quality is so surprising. Something is broken there. Pana! Maybe you can take some videos? Is it as noisy in a normally lit room (indoor)? maybe this is nokia strategy but i dislike it

for those who suffered from certificate expired issue when installing software there is a way for u to solve it i found on other site but if it's working or not, u tell me
1. backup both phone memory and mmc data 2. format ur mmc 3. soft reset ur phone 4. restore ur backuped mmc data back to ur mmc 5. do the same to ur phone
lastly, try to install software which caused you problem c if it works or not
