The maps is MFM v1.40 (Released 2nd Feb 2009) the latest Malaysia full maps (recomended if you are not travelling)

or another latest one is Malsing v2.30 (Gold Edition)

BTW Im using Garmin XT v5.00.20 + MFM v1.40 on my E71 (work prefect, no problem or laggy... 5 sec max to get signal)

Sorry out of topic again... For Nokia 5800XM User...

Garmin Mobile is compatible with the operating system Symbian S60 V5 in general.
In the early stages of testing it was noted that programs like Garmin and Route66 are installed without problems, but they did not receive the commands because of the lack of a physical keyboard. This problem was solved, however, using software that will create a virtual keyboard on the display, the Garmin is able to recognize almost seamlessly.
In essence, from today you can use Garmin Mobile XT also on Nokia devices touchscreen. To get the Garmin, you must follow this simple guide, which I have not tested coz i'm not currently in possession of a terminal Touch, but I know that has been tested by many other users.

GUIDE FOR USE GARMIN MOBILE XT ON NOKIA Touch
With this method, the navigator works perfectly, but the only limit is the inability to enter the house number of an address. Perhaps this little bug will be fixed in the meantime you can navigate to our goal.

1) Install the Garmin Mobile XT.

2) Install VirtualKey on the phone's memory.

The start it and at once we close it to let him to create the directory that we shall need later.
3) Download custom2.keymap
Connecting your phone to the PC and enter in:
E: \ private \ e7d61da9 \ (where E is the memory card)
And copy custom2.keymap

4) Unplug the phone from the PC, start Virtual Key, go to Options / Load Mode / Custom Mode 2, Exclude, Option / Change Mode / Includes. Then Options / Add from installed, choose Gmobile xt, Select, Cancel, Back (to let Virtual Key to remain in the background).

that means:
== Settings tab Options-> Load mode-> Custom Mode 2
Exclude Tab == Option-> Change mode-> Include
Includes == Tab Options-> Add-installed from> Gmobile XT-> Select

It 's all. The procedure is finished, we will be able to use the Garmin on Nokia TouchScreen and other devices with Symbian S60 V5 touchscreen.

hi people.

I'm planning to get myself the e71 by this month. I have been saving up for it quite a while now. I'm from Johor bahru and from the shops I asked around, an AP one would cost Rm1250.. ori is about 1400. They all don't look very genuine.

I will be going KL on the 12th of feb and I'm thinking i might as well, go get it from a genuine shop and try to get a good bargain. what are the shops you guys had good experiences with? Or a good price. If the price doesn't differ too much, i'd get the ori. Ori is easier to get things done rite? If there are any problems, I can just go straight to Nokia Service Centre (in jb) to fix it. don't have to go back to the shop. Is it right? or I should get it in JB?

and also, what should I look out for? hahaa. I'm quite new to this. Don't wish to get con. Times are bad, getting con now adds in the damn stress. haha.

Thanks!

Try Low Yat Plaza, you can get it below RM1400... Should range from RM1350-RM1380... Use some time to walk and ask around... Compare with few shop before buying. There is also a Nokia shop around there you can verify with them, just in case you not sure the shops are showing you original ones or not... smile.gif

if you go to Low Yat Plaza, look out for this shop;

Shop name : Future Mobile Sales & Service
Kiosk location : 1st floor, 1-K10, Plaza Low Yat..

got my E71 there for RM1700 (November 2008)..plus they gave me 4GB memory card..other shops offer the same price but with only 2GB memory card..oh, if you can find the shop, just look for a shop with "Kingston" sign on it..thats the shop..
