The keypad fits snugly. No amount of pushing can fix the light leakage. Plus, I bought another set.. and it's light leakage was limited to a small area.. which leads me to believe its a QC problem.

It means u can see light coming out thru a small gap between the top soft keys, D-pad and the screen.

Not the keypad light. Light leaks out from a small gap between the keypad and the LCD.. It's like a straight line. Makes that area looks 'kasar'.

I'm trying to search for some pics to illustrate the issue.

i guess is a design problem
maybe they make the lcd border non transparent then no more leakage

so the avaxx/zitron maybe will just take out ur lcd and paint a dark paint on lcd's border n put it back
just joking XD

its normal and its the design not a fault. When you have lighting between 2 object and there is a gab in between you will see it. Other model nokia phone also have this design..i think other brand also.

Dude.. its definitely not part of the design. I got another E71 and it doesn't have the light leakage problem like mine. I'm bringing it in for warranty tomorrow morning. Hopefully Nokia Care doesn't screw up my phone.

I didnt have this so called leakage when my phone was brand new. I had a problem with the keypad (feels bouncy for the ones nearest to the screen)and Nokia replaced it with a new one. Since then, the leakage appeared.

My theory is that since manufacturing pushed the keypad all the way up to minimize the gap, they sacrificed the keypad alignment. So in my case it was time the keypad gave up and started to misalign and make squeaking sounds when pressed.

anyone using white e71? does the keypad get dirt easily?
*
White user here. No, the keypads don't get dirty easily, even after a few months of usage.

The only thing you have to be careful about, is the memory card door, and USB cable socket door, which is made of rubber, and is more prone to stains than any other part of the phone.

Googled for NSS (Nokia Service Suite), download and read the tutorial on how to changed it code and use Nokia Updater for firmware update... This only apply to AP Set, AVVAXX or ZITRON dont need this... smile.gif
