I will hold my judgement on MW2 until the reviews are out. If IW manage to get their sh*t together and IW.net is acceptable. I just might.
There is no chance that IW.Net will be acceptable.
People are having problems time to time playing on a TF2 server in Malaysia. What makes you think that IWNet that use a much inferior P2P system will be better than a dedicated server system?
I played L4D with players around this region and it was alright. IW.net afterall takes consideration into the player's ping.
Unless you like to play a 6 player game in MW2,which defeats the point of a warfare based game, then,go get this game.If you enjoyed the big matches, from 16 to 32 players games, dont bother about this and wait for BFBC2 which probably be much better than this.
CoD is the new NFS series where the quality will drop every year.
The reviews of this game gonna be good,as "critics" are never honest and barely touches MP.
Even there are past games with P2P system failed badly. The most recent one is Operation Flashpoint 2.What makes you think IWNet will be better than the same P2P system in OF2DR?
Keep your RM300.Then,buy L4F2,Borderland,Dragon Age or any other game that is much more decent than this crap.
Here is a video why IWNet will cause the MP to fail.
Besides,Activision only wants your money, not want to make good long lasting games.IWNet + Steam will give them all the tools they need to keep squeezing money out of your wallet every year, which is explained in the video.

After a slideshow masquerading as a video suggested that first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could also be played from a third person perspective, Joystiq has details on the new view from developer Infinity Ward.
"This is just another cool way to play the game," noted IW's Robert 'fourzerotwo' Bowling. He explained that the alternate view is only available via dedicated playlists and private multiplayer matches. Players won't be able to swap between the views mid-match, as the camera is determined by match settings.
"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," he added. "You obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well." More details and a better explanation of the new view should arrive soon via a supposedly "awesome trailer."
Modern Warfare 2 hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 10.
PC version no dedicated server <<-- wat that mean, guys?
It's pretty much the servers you see on server list in CS,CoD4,TF2 etc that is run by the gamers for other gamers to play on it.
The main reason dedicated server is better is because it offers much lower latency than what IWNet will offer which is a fail boat. You get a matchmaking system in MW2 via IWNet.

Intro's The finale of the first act's been leaked... apparently by the French again.
You have to watch the video to see what its trying to pull off... If the execution scene in the first MW wasn't good enough for you, this arguably is.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Its very odd in a game called Call of Duty to put you in the role of a "terrorist" (Even though its technically undercover)... Watching the parts where he just blasted away those people felt a bit uneasy to watch.
Congrats IW, you've made me feel a bit remorseful for choosing not to buy this... Well played, well played.
The stupid australian government should have banned this.
Save the aussies from a shit game and some money for more beer.
If this was indeed a "shit" game, we wouldn't have 120k over signatures in a petition.
Ok,what is revealed so far that makes MW2 is not a shit game? None.
Then,whats shit then?
No dedicated servers No modding Mass murdering of innocent civilians which is far worse than mass murdering a bunch of wounded zombies.Even GTA is much better than this. 3rd person view
MP is already shit, now, even the SP is shit. The campaign looks great in the Infamy trailer and the initial tundra campaign with Soap, but after this "leak",wow,it looks utterly shitty as killing innocent civilian is not fun at all. It's just sick.Gawd knows what bullshit that they have in the game for us.It seems like there is a huge change in direction in MW2,which makes it look so different with previous CoDs.
It's actually 160k now on the petition.People sign the petition because they hope that they can change MW2 and hope it will be as awesome as MW1.I think all the efforts is wasted as Activision dont give a damn.
Thanks Kotick.

The thing is, the core game itself isn't shit. Otherwise any turd on the planet can be considered great just because it has dedicated servers and modding (Clue: It doesn't)
If this were some sequel to some rubbish game, nobody would bat an eyelid if the developers announced that there's no dedicated servers, no modding, or if it uses SHITNet for matchmaking.
But if you really think the core game is shit, then petitioning it wouldn't help since the best implementation of dedicated servers or server browsers won't save it. People would just ignore it and move on. As it is, the game is just crippled on the PC version, but the single player looks to be at the same level as before.
Also, did you see the video? The "mass murdering" of civilians appears to be optional and its purpose is to drive home a point (That undercover operatives are crap). I personally think its a gutsy move as it evokes an emotional response and your outrage proves it.
The core game like the new perks, double attachments in MP isnt bad,it's just that the stuff was announced later on is shit.
I dont know why they would put you in a scene that shows mass murdering of civilians as there are much more bad things to do as a terrorist than just murdering a bunch of people. It's just wrong.
I believe that part actually leads to killing an important person that was shown in the trailer.
Erm, so its wrong because its NOT the worst a terrorist can do? You'd rather they blew up whole cities or crash planes into buildings instead? I'm really hoping I'm misunderstanding your statement.
Also, its not like it wasn't done before (You can see it in the intro sequence of COD4)... Its just that this time YOU are a part of it.
No,i mean it's just wrong to show mass murdering of innocent civilians. It's sick.At least you dont see a lot of people die in agony when you blow up the whole city.
The intro sequence of CoD4 is awesome. It was a bit of a controversy, but it wasnt too much. The mass murdering part was just a small of of it and i actually miss it the first time play. This time, they put you in the shoes of the mass murdering and it's the main event in that mission.
Oh c'mon... The entire point of the execution and nuclear fallout scenes in the first Modern Warfare WAS to make it disturbing. They had practically no gameplay value and we're just there to illustrate the horrors of warfare.
This is more of the same, but with a little more interactivity on your part.
Yes,but it's way over done.
Seeing innocent civilians getting killed doesnt really show the horror of warfare. It could be a robbery with people spraying guns at innocent people.
