Google GST or Goods and Services Tax. I also stun cock when my friend told me got some rebate when he bought his touch. Plus that time Harvey Norman got some discount. 318 AUD. So his 8GB touch came to RM 692.
I'm hoping that someone would be kind enough to carry a touch in for me also. If the post a page ago is true, it would be about RM200 savings for a 16gb touch. more than enough to get one RebelTouch. |

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Jan 28 2009, 03:50 PM) Claim from whom?Added on January 28, 2009, 3:54 pmnever got my answer already... QUOTE(wikipedia) Tourist refund scheme Before the introduction of the GST, goods could be purchased from suppliers offering duty free pricing upon presentation of a current passport and airline tickets. The goods would then remain sealed until the passenger had passed through the customs area at an airport. Following the introduction of the GST, a receipt for goods with a combined total over AUD$300 is eligible for a refund of any GST paid upon exiting the country with refunds claimed at a TRS (Tourist Refund Scheme)[11] counter at the airport. The advantage of this arrangement is that goods purchased up to a month prior to departure may be freely used within Australia prior departure as long as they are carried in hand luggage and presented when making a refund claim. This obviously does not extend to consumable goods such as food and beverages, or any services such as plane tickets or hotel room charges. Just buy it a few days before you go back then it'll be ok."The advantage of this arrangement is that goods purchased up to a month prior to departure may be freely used within Australia prior departure as long as they are carried in hand luggage and presented when making a refund claim." |

QUOTE To claim a refund you must: Means i can only buy it when i wanna come back...I can't buy n use it for the the whole study duration...zzz  * Spend $300 (GST inclusive) or more in the one store and get a single tax invoice   * Buy goods no more than 30 days before departure   * Wear or carry the goods on board the aircraft or ship and present them along with your original tax invoice, passport and international boarding pass to a Customs Officer at a TRS facility   * Claims at airports are available up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight.   * Claims at seaports should be made no earlier than 4 hours and no later than 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time of the vessel. QUOTE(Vortrack @ Jan 28 2009, 02:39 PM) There's a new software update for iPod Touch. Version 2.2.1. I'm downloading it now and I'm hoping that there would be more improvements than the mentioned such as maybe a slightly improved battery life. iPhone 2.2.1 Software Update This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following: - Improved general stability of Safari - Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll |
