Hi,

I need a headphone in use on my pc & portable player.

I would like it to have a headphone which won't be easy to slip from your ears. & i want when wearing it, it won't be easy for you to hear outside environment sounds, such like the Sony Ericsson handfree earphone. But would like it to be headphone instead of earphone. Able to hear decent base.

Budget 200 & below.

Currently my eyes on sennheiser HD202, hmm.gif

thanks
*
ATH-M30 should be good, but you may need to raise your budget up to 220. balanced headphone with good noise isolation. can contact Akabane@DrJackel for info.

hihi~ all pros here~
i'm just looking for a good NOISE CANCELLATION HEADPHONES~

as i mean it.. i'll sit beside the TV & watch movies in my PC LCD monitor~
i dont like to hear something come out from the TV speaker~(*annoying*) rclxub.gif

so i was just looking for a good noise cancellation headphone~
any suggestion?? i'm not going to raise my volume~
i hate loud & will feel pain if hearing high volume for half an hour~

so i do really need a good noise cancellation headphone that i can just hear what i want in 50% volume...
but it very clear with the sound & no others sound come from the TV speaker beside me~

Hope to get as cheap as possible too... ><" i dont have thousand for that things~ sweat.gif
please do let me know the price & where to get also ya~~

TQ so~~~ much~~~ notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Sony MDR-NC7 fits ur budget, selling at RM 288.
if you want more effective noise-cancelling stuff, it comes with a higher price.
try ask around ur local Sony shop, if any.

normally headphone hard to doing the noise isolation like that .

If wan u better getting the IEM .
*
this is a tough question, also have to depends on the individual.

i personally find that a full-size headphone offers better noise isolation than IEM (both without NC function). even if the IEM is insert deep into the ear canal, you might still can bear bits from the TV. as for headphone, playing songs with moderate volume would be good.

I'm interested to try out brands like Senn or Denon but for now I still lies with Audio Technica....

last time I used to have the thought that at most I'd spend ~RM 50 for a headphone/earphone, that's it.

ever since I purchased EP-630, then ATH-M30.... the poison starts to kick in.... craving for more.... drool.gif

The ATH-M30, the bass good? I actually bought one unit already, but the bass is kinda weak so I wanna know if it's just me/my set or that's how it is.
*
ATH-M30 is not bassy type phone, i find the bass is just nice, not too overly done. i guess mainly is because the neutral sounding characteristic of M30, since it's a monitoring headphone.

those AD or A series might give different results though.

Hi everyone,

How is the Sony MDR-NC020 (Bundled noise cancelling headphones for Sony S-series MP3) as compared to Crossroads Bijou3?

To use with the Sony S738F MP3 player.

Anyone tried both of them b4?
*
I using NC020 now and Bijou4.

would say NC020 performs better in bass.
as for treble, maybe Bijou4 is slightly better.

NC500D is a full size NC headphone so yeah.... it's pricey.

personally I would prefer NC020 to Bijou4 though, coz NC020 performs better in bass thus more most of the songs sounded better than Bijou4.
usually my collection consist of instrumentals, orchestral, techno, vocals.

it's worth it, if u need it.

to buy a standalone NC earphone/headphone is quite costly, so since it's bundled together with the player so I think it's worthwhile.

true. but I noticed that even if the IEM is perfect fit, there are still some sounds that you might still heard from the outside. a perfect fit doesn't means 100% noise isolation, so NC comes into handy to cancel out the sound.

wouldn't say that NC would cancel out most of the sound, but the difference is noticeable when turn on and off especially in the crowd.

haha , but normally after start listening the song , no more other sound from outside came into my ear . LoL

normally u also can see that , the NC earphone only few company using for it , and if u getting better one , they didnt using this NC function edi , coz it will changing some of the SQ if i not wrong .

They just using the tips make the noise isolation .
*
yep, as ClieOS stated in his reviews, NC phone is inferior towards those dedicated hearing pieces.
currently NC earpiece might be slightly better than conventional ones, but no way near those high ends.

I've been looking around hard and can't seem to see any threads around here that recommends a good headphone below RM350 for a basshead like me; or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. I listen mainly to techno and J-rock/metal(?), prefer to be able to hear bass clearly (especially from bass guitars and all all those lovely electronic/tweeter/whatever they are supposed to be called songs) because I hope to be able to take up bass guitar lessons when I'm no longer such a poor sod. cry.gif

Being new at all this stuff (it simply began with wanting more out of the music I listen to), I'm not really very sure what I should look out for. Frankly, it seems as if anything in that price range just doesn't offer the 'volume' in bass I want, yet not compromised too much on the other ends.

I know I sound greedy here (cheap yet good on all ends? HA!) and I'm too long-winded but anyway, recommendations? notworthy.gif

maybe you can try Sony Xtra Bass series, MDR-XB700 (RM 400) or MDR-XB500 (RM 280). should be available in Sony shops locally.

I wonder whether Audio Technica ATH-AD300 suits you or not, as it's said to had good soundstage but for bass I dunno how good it is...

Are these earphones or headphones? Never actually seen headphones in Sony centres, only earphones. Anyway I think I'll try to look around the next time I pass by a Sony Centre. Thanks=3
From what I read in some forums including LYN, AD300 is not really for bassheads and neither is the AD500 (which is even more expensive). Never heard either myself so I dunno. There's a shop all the way in Lowyat plaza KL that stocks certain models of Audio Technica and you can actually test it there. But I went there last saturday and the shop owner said they had no more AD300s so I bought a M30, which I could always give to my younger brother later when I buy a better headphone.

Anyone got other recommendations?  icon_question.gif
*
so you got urself ATH-M30 eh? how much is it? M30 isn't for basshead as for it's neutral, monitoring sounding.

as for the Sony recommendation, best if you can try those headphones out yourself before deciding it. i quote that one since it's said to be bassy, and easily available.

take note, the Audio Technica A series and AD series are different stuffs....
A = close can while AD = open can.
A500 cost more than the budget stated though.

seems like SJ5 is kinda similar to M30, in terms of the sound nature. I think that SJ5 might be sounded kinda neutral, not biased to any highs, mids or lows, just all-rounder balanced perhaps?

Audio Technica ATH-AD300, the best candidate that fits your budget and requirements.

QUOTE(2kia @ Jun 21 2009, 12:58 PM)
indeed, since they seem to be from da same family.. i'd prefer the sj5 over the m30 for its collapsible feature, however, there's a m35 out there as well which is exactly da same as m30 but collapsible..

hope akabane could bring in either one wit reasonable price, both not listed on his thread..  sad.gif
first time heard of M35 eh. now this is a new discovery lol.
for those unlisted AT headphones, can try ask Akabane or SonyEriksson see, they might bring it in on demand.
