So, my panasonic HT223 kinda broke... I'm not sure how, but the "band" that connects the two headphones in an arch broke just above the right one.

Anyway, its been... many many years since I researched headphones.
With a new budget of RM 75-150, what kinds should I be looking at?

I game a lot, I have a solid gaming pc. I can play GTA4 on 1024x768 with above adverage settings with no lag.
I listen to contemporary music, mix of fast and slow music.

I'm not an audiophile, I just want it good, strong, and comfy. No leather covering and stuff, its too hot. I peeled the plastic-y covering of the HT223 off(it was kinda thin n peeling off) so that the soft sponge was againts my skin. I want quality, but I'm not the kind that notices its 0.003% off. (no offence to those that do)

Currently using a RM 10 headphones I dug up. Sigh...

Note, budget extendable to RM200 with good reason.

Thanks for any help.

Audio Technica ATH-AD300 fits in ur budget I think, though maybe gonna stretch abit til 200++. the padding is those fabric instead of p-leather, said to be a comfy pair of headphone.
can get it via bulk.

1) for A300 and M30 , both of them are closed back and having hood clarity and detail . Apart from that, what are the difference ? because they are almost the same price, cant decide .

2) about soundstage and warmer term , I dont understand because i am new in audiophiles wub.gif

3)for close back and open back , what are the difference ? From the google result , I found that open are semi close and closed back are full size headphone ? need real user experience ..

4) Mostly of the time I am using in my own room which only me using it . And about surrounding , quite quiet most of the time.
I need full size headphone earpad to cover my whole ears to immerse myself in " MUSIC WORLD " completely, listen to every essence of music and another reason is  i already have one semi open headphone.

So open or closed back , which one suit me ?

AD300, A300 and M30 can be considered as full-size cans, those can cover your entire ear.

what kind of songs you usually listen to anyway? certain genres like orchestral such can be benefited by the wide soundstage found on open-can (AD300 in this case). closed-can (A300) is said to have narrower soundstage, but better bass compared to open-can.

usually listen to lastest Hitz music ( lady gaga poker face, flo rida sugar, Kelly Clarkson I Do Not Hook Up, and many many more )   =) ,prefer clarity + detail... So what's your suggestion ? I afraid bass will affect the clarity , if I want to bass , I think i will play it with 2.1 speaker system , more "boom " , dont you think so ?

ATH-T22 used to be that cheap before the price hike which is due to the uprising JPY at that time.

A/AD series are cushion type like the one you want. quite comfy I would say.

the "thin plastic" you referring is actually leather pad.

mmm Then are there any AD series which is portable ?
*
A series = ATH-A500/700/900 etc.
AD series = ATH-AD300/500/700/900 etc.

nope, don't have portable AD series.

QUOTE(KingOfRobin @ Sep 10 2009, 03:33 AM)
hi there,
i personally own an iPod Nano now,
finding a pairing headphones/ in-ear headphones
budget's around RM500

questions:
1) do iPod good enough to enhance their performance?
2) do it affect iPod's battery life?
3) do those headphones have a balanced high mids and bass?

i'm kinda new in headphones and mp3s'
please be kind to share what you know  smile.gif

thx~  notworthy.gif
*
1) for those headphones which don't need amp should be working OK with Nano.
2) if u gonna crack up louder volumes on the iPod, indirectly it'll drain more batt life.
3) the signature is variable depending on what headphone/earphone you're using to listen.
