My opinion is that you don't have to change it if your 1709 support Multichannel LPCM via HDMI and you want to save some money. When you get bluray player in future, just make sure you get a bluray player that can decode the HD format on the player itself and sent the decoded signal to the 1709 via HDMI in Multichannel LPCM format (e.g. PS3). You still can enjoy full HD video and sound this way.

If you die die must get HD decoding on the AVR itself or want more features (e.g. more HDMI inputs, more power, etc, etc.), then you have to upgrade but be prepared to pay much much more $$$.

This is a true eilte "just angkat only and no need to think one".

Sammy plasma is most probably off my list liao...cos of the image retention and so many people say Sammy reliability not that good (but this one can be settled with the 5-year warranty).

After that I was in dilemma, choosing between B650 and S10.
But at the end, I took B650 as I 'kenot tahan' the 'grey' on S10 which would make me keep thinking of the 'black' on B650.
Like seeing a pretty gal (reliable) but there's another gal even more pretty (but less reliable and pricey) 

I still remember during my studying days.... save up a few months to buy a z-680.... I think that was 7-8 yrs ago.
