Absolute rubbish esp when they mention not powerful 

Most of the Onkyo and Yamaha avrs are made in Malaysia. All avrs have inflated figures of power output. What matters most is pure output when being hooked up with 7 spkrs.

The only prob is the price tag of Denon. Utter crap on those statements

I think you've misunderstood the purpose of multiple positions. Anyway, Audyssey recommends at least 6 positions (measurements) to accurately measure your room characteristics so that it can apply the appropriate corrections.

You should re-run the Audyssey setup.
I can't comment on the price as I dont know, but all I can say is check if this is the 3808 or 3808A. The firmware upgraded "A" version has Audyssey Dynamic EQ, Audyssey Dynamic Volume and HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC). The A version should fetch slightly higher premium.

Retail was around RM5.5k-RM6k iirc back in 2009 before the xx10 series came out. Someone (i think junwei) was doing MO for $4.7k at one time.

the 3808's replacement model in the current Denon line-up is the 4310. By going for the 3310, there are several pros & cons (just off my head, if i remember correctly):
3808 has network streaming capabilities which 3310 doesnt
3808 has a higher wattage amp
3808 uses better DACs and video processor (and other bells & whistles e.g. AL24 processing, etc)
3808 made in Japan (if that's important to you)

3310 offers more HDMI inputs
3310 has the new GUI
3310 doesnt need the Denon ipod dock to play ipods (if that's important to you)
can't remember if the 3310 offers DSX though (maybe not).
The Audyssey is not a be all and end all final setting. However, it is a good starting point from which to make further fine-tuning and adjustments. Best to do this with an SPL meter. You can always bring down the volume of the rears.

I am not very sure on your case. But when I changed from 2309 to 4310, difference in SQ was quite significant.

I am using 2310, upgraded from 1709, same issue. The reason for the diff in vol is because the input sensitivity of your 2 amps are different, it is OK to adjust the input source volume - no harm. It's there to make the diff source play at same loudness on 3310; but if you don't have other inputs, then you can use the adjustment to make 3310 sound the same level to 1909.  If you really want to calibrate 3310 to 'reference dB levels' (which we don't need) you would need a sound meter & signal generator, otherwise just use your ears. Don't worry about the sound levels between different amp, just in case you WTS 3310 when you hear your friend's amp -20db sounds louder than yours at -15db.  Enjoy your new toy!

yeah power very limited in avr. even denon 4810 can only output 60w max per channel if all 7 channel driven. that's where power amp comes in.
