Actually, just in case I made a mistake in misleading people, Deep Color and YCbCr 4:4:4 are not the same.

The actual content on BD/DVD is in 4:2:0.

Deep Color refers to the color gamut.

However, the implementation of Deep Color varies. It depends on your panel. Normal 8 bit panels are have 8 bit color depth for each of the R,G,B channels thus 24bits in total.

A Deep Color capable set is capable of receiving either 10bits per channel (30bits) or 12 bits per channel (36bits). No normal content is mastered in this bit depths. However, it can provide a smoother transition of colours. This was said to be one of the main problems with the older Sharp panels that were susceptible to banding. However, the algorithms need to be good to ensure that you do not have any other problems even with panels that are 10 and 12 bits.

Can you do a complete factory reset of the Denon AVR? Or have you done it?

This might be the best way to remove all EDID info stored in the memory of the AVR to see if we can kick start the handshaking again.

What do u mean by hard reset? Power off/on? If so, that will not work.

You need to do a complete factory reset. Google and check the procedure if u do not have it. Then reconnect all ur inputs and try again.

The Marantz pro/pwr combo actually aint very impressive in AQ. When you are there, try to audition it. For the price, I wld rather buy AVR4310 and XPA-5.

for me i ran audyssey but then need to change my front setting to small.. later i did a little fine tuning on the spks n sub levels .. all done by ear though.. no SPL.. n IMO the surround sounds better after that...
