QUOTE(weeuweed @ Jul 19 2010, 04:54 AM) Alright imma going to hit the button and get YSL La Nuit, YSL Body Kouros, Armani Code. Picked the three from a shortlist drawn which included M7, Terre d Hermes, Unforgivable, A*Men, Dior Homme, Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme, Rochasman It's a good selection as most of the frags aren't generic smelling. But the con about your selection is they maybe a bit too heavy for a typical hot and humid malaysian day (that's if u r local). Similar...NO...all are rather unique and certainly quite good. I own all the frags in your selection except La nuit and Body Kouros. None of the frags will disappoint in terms of longevity and sillage...well except Armani Code. I've tested most of the fragrances above.. L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme - instantly reminds me of really nice smelling flowers.. bit like orchid M7, Terre d Hermes - probably more suited for mature audience. A*Men - smells like candy Armani code - sprayed a bit on and cant take my mind off it La Nuit - The saleslady introduced this and I like the smell too Dior Homme - left a bit of vanilla like flavor when it dries.. In the end it was between this vs La Nui vs Code.. took me a long time to discard this =/ Any comment on my selection? Maybe they are too similar but im not sure I am ready for the more mature smell yet. *PS: Im only a newb so my analysis lacked depth XD Go easy on me I don't really think frags like M7 and TdH are mature/old man smelling one bit. Trust me there are many other frags that reek of "old man" and "old lady". TBH those old man frags are my favs. |

QUOTE(weeuweed @ Jul 21 2010, 01:13 PM) Ah it's nice to hear from your comment. Spray less and spray on parts of the body covered by clothing (chest, arms, abdome and etc). This will reduce the sillage and lessen the cloying effect of some frags. Too heavy for our weather? Anyway to counter this? Maybe be less generous when spraying the fragrances? I guess im too inexperienced to distinguish all the fragrances yet.. Because of M7 & Terre d Hermes woody and different scene - different from any other perfume i've smelled and the usual aquatic/floral types. Mind you i blind buy a classical frag (that smelled very woody) and got burnt Oh yes I have noticed your La Nuit vs Dior Homme thread LOL. I actually posted on the thread too I'll just like to add...do try out Dior Homme Cologne as Dior Homme can be a tad cloying on a really hot day. TBH the weather doesn't really matter to me when it comes to deciding what frag to spray on. Unique smelling frags may appear unappealing at first but Im sure once u have tried more frags u will start to appreciate the more unique smelling ones. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Jul 24 2010, 11:42 AM) Any recommend perfume for college student ? Azzaro Chrome would be a good choice for u as it meets your criteria. -Fresh smell -Attractive smell to gf/female -can last for 4-8 hours -Below RM 150 for more then 25ml Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme smells alright but has dreadful sillage and longevity. |

QUOTE(Desvaro @ Jul 25 2010, 02:46 PM) Can someone comment on the sillage and longevity of Issey Miyake L'eau Pour Homme? The smell u get right after spraying will never last. Prob is when we test a frag we often keep smelling it right after spraying. This makes the nose fatigued and after a while u wont be able to detect the frag as clearly as before. So sometimes it's not the frag but our sense of smell. I own a bottle of Issey Miyake L'eau Pour Homme and the sillage and longevity is average. It's a fresh/aquatic/floral frag and this kind of frags are not known to be long lasting or strong.I tried some just now, sprayed 2 sprays on my wrist. It smelled really good, but barely an hour later it seems to have disappeared. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Jul 26 2010, 07:36 PM) Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme have tobacco smell ?! I just order a unit of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme. I hope it does not really smell tobacco because I afraid other people misunderstand that I a smoker yet I'm not a smoker. LOL Nah the tobacco is really mild and not noticeable. There is a huge difference between the smell of cigarettes and tobacco. Good luck with the sillage and longevity though. This post has been edited by jonny4: Jul 26 2010, 09:52 PM |

QUOTE(triple02 @ Jul 27 2010, 02:12 PM) guys great thread just stumbled it in here... I find nothing really special about Starwalker but it's one of those safe likable frags. Good for the office or occasions where u won't want to stand out too much. Bulgari Pour Homme Extreme is subtle and clean smelling...but not at all weak or short lasting. There is a distinct tea note that really sets it apart from the rest. Here's a collection of what i have Giorgio Armani- Acqua Di Gio got it as a gift its too common Giorgio Armani -Armani Code Jean Paul Gaultier -Le Male Ralph Lauren - Polo Sport - got it this a few years back as well still havent finished it... Hugo Boss - Boss 6 now im looking at getting Mont Blanc -Starwalker & Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme I can see quite alot of rave reviews for Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme in this thread what about Starwalker? |

QUOTE(D_L @ Aug 4 2010, 11:58 AM) juz a question here...do they sell 30ml perfumes here coz i dont remember seeing any of it....30ml is much cheaper n we can have lots of perfumes.. Some brands do have 30ml sizes but it's up to the discretion of the local importers whether or not to bring in that particular size. For example CK One is available in 50ml overseas but that size is non existent here AFAIK and only available locally in 100 and 200ml sizes. It's all about the profit I guess. For the average person that buys 1 or 2 bottles a year, bigger sizes equak better value for money but if u planning on collecting like me, the smaller the better Added on August 4, 2010, 12:17 pm QUOTE(desho! @ Aug 4 2010, 10:38 AM) As a girl, I always thought CK One Knocks the rest off the bar. I'm a big CK One fan too. Have u tried the very similar more masculine Azzaro Chrome ? Davidoff Cool Water is not too bad. Issey Miyake used to be nice.. but not anymore since every John, d*** and Harry wears it. Cool Water used to be good but the recent versions lack the fullness and oomph of the older versions. QUOTE(tdw @ Aug 4 2010, 06:08 PM) Armani Code would be perfect if u ask me...Code ain't that strong and the sillage is weak so only those close to u would smell it...making it very suitable dinner parties. Once again don't overspray...any frag when oversprayed will make u look like a show off. This post has been edited by jonny4: Aug 4 2010, 06:19 PM |

QUOTE(xphossis @ Aug 4 2010, 11:34 PM) Not the whole mall sells perfume but quite a huge section of it. The mall sells a lot of stuff from gadgets to clothing to meds and even perfume. My favs for work are Bulgari Aqua, YSL L'Homme, Cool Water, YSL Live Jazz, Paul Smith Story, Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude, Dior Fahrenheit, Bulgari Pour Homme Extreme, Hermes Rocabar and many more Hey guys, what would you recommend for day wear (eg. to work) Most frags can be used for work as long as they aren't overly strong...and don't overspray. |

QUOTE(sarahlah @ Aug 13 2010, 10:56 AM) hye jonny.. after searching for couples of month, manage to find EN at my hometown Hey therebut just the miniature.. miniature and the big bottle is the same right in terms of the smell and sillage ? the smell is quite nice actually and draws compliment too.. but not all people like it i have tried PS Story too.. its nice and i would like to give it a shot BUT when i try the frags at 2 diff shops, the smell is diff.. is it normal ? at one shop the smell is like vetiver dominant and at the other shop the smell is citrussy with vetiver at background between dior fahrenheit and fahrenheit 32, which one is more nicer ? Hard to say whether or not the mini will be same as the actual size as most minis only have a stopper to keep the air out so I would assume some air contamination will happen. Also depends on how old and how the minis were stored. If the price is ok n the minis r stored properly (dark place, away fr heat) then go for it haha. Hard to please everyone unless u wear some really common n boring like CK One and Aqua di Gio. One thing for sure is u will smell unique when wearing EN. PS Story for me smells very bright n citrussy at the beginning and vetiver dominant an hour later. It is possible the vetiver dominant smell was fr a tester that was exposed to heat n light for too long n d smell degraded. On the other hand sometimes our sense of smell can be influenced by other things...dat maybe a reason y Story smelled diff to u. Try testing a few more times ar just to be safe. U tested on skin or paper ? I personally prefer regular Fahrenheit...I really love it actually haha. But I can't stand Fahrenheit 32 at all..the smell makes me sick. But that's just me |

QUOTE(sarahlah @ Aug 14 2010, 01:41 PM) @jonny4 The citrussy top notes only last for a short time but the one u tried yesterday should be a fresher tester. i have tried PS Story at another shop yerterday.. the smell is citrussy.. i guess its true what u said.. the tester maybe was exposed and the smell degraded.. i tested it on the paper only.. Always try on skin to get the best out of the scent. Many times ppl are fooled by the paper strips. But do take note that sometimes even d shower gel u use can affect how a scent smells like on skin. That'd y i use unscented soap if i don't have the matching shower gel. |
