dont waste your time. just buy YSL La Nuit De L'Homme. i bet most young girls will like it (if thats ur intention). also it have masculine dry down. dry down have that smells exactly like potpourri (or incense?) that always greet you when u enter any Arab or Persian perfume shop. i dont like it though coz its not my style.

Just backed from trying few perfumes.  Sadly I don't get a chance to try Thierry Mugler A*Men, Just Parfum don't have the tester for it .

Firstly I tried JPG Le Male, I don't really know how to describe the smell lol.  Abit dull for me maybe my age problem but it gets sweeter over time

Then Burberry The Beat - Gosh I love the smell so much, the opening was a blast.  The review on basenotes says its opening is black pepper and violet leaves but it smells like lime to me lol.  It's very light I love the clean smell and it's very young, suitable for teenagers like me.

Then I tried Burberry London and Burberry Sport. Not very impressed...

After trying the perfumes above I decided to try one thing at Parkson,  I went to Chanel counter and asked the SA to spray Platinum Egoiste on my wrist and then mix it with Chanel N5.  Guess what ?  They don't mix up with each other, I can still smell N5 and Platinum Egoiste by its own. The combination of both of the perfume is very nice anyway, I enjoyed the smell~  laugh.gif
I'm very interested to get a bottle of Burberry The Beat, but I can't decide the sillage and the longevity...  So far I read posts here, Burberry perfumes doesn't lasts long and has poor sillage. I hope The Beat doesn't
*
man, dont waste time, A*Men smells literally like coffee. i donno why anyone would want to smell like this. i also dont understand why Thierry Mugler only have this for their male perfume in Malaysia??

have u tried Burberry Brit? i has a more promiment smell than London or Beat. if i have anything to choose from Burberry, ill take Brit. But i dont like any of them coz they all smells generic to me. longevity also is predictable.

anyone here use and liked Edition Blanche? holy crap, this smell exactly like limau purut. we use to bath with this during our silat rituals. i wonder why westerners like this smell so much. hehe. you can buy this 50 sen only at the market.
*
i own edition blanche, it's smell like a cheapo frag indeed.. i don't like it much, the silage & projection is crap..

not sure if smell like limau purut, it's more on lemon..

for a*men i didn't get much coffee, maybe just a hint of it but lotsa chocolate.. the opening makes a lots of people hate this frag imo, because of the strong tar..

btw mugler didn't make any new releases for ages as their normal line-up for men, just those limited edition is keep going. they more interested on making women frag i guess.. with their new womanity frag last year..

a*men, b*men (maybe discontinued), cologne, ice*men (maybe discontinued), i guess that 4 should be in malaysia.. just need to find hard enough..

in singapore u still can find all of them in sephora or discounters except the a*men flankers is a bit hard..

I think I might as well start off with a topic here since this is a perfume thread where people talks about perfume.

It could be a very expensive smelling or very highly priced perfume like Chanel.
Do you guys ever wondered the side effects of a perfume?

I am not sure if a perfume harms but how it's made includes chemical. That's for sure.

This shall be a discussion literally rather than a debate. I hope everyone shares each others opinion kindly. laugh.gif

Like all things that come in contact with skin...some ppl will be allergic. Personally I do get some redness and itchiness whenever I spray Le Male and Bogart Pour Homme on my neck and chest. But it subsides after 30mins. If u research online there will be ppl claiming that frags causes cancer, blindness and etc. I guess as long as u use it in moderation u shud be fine.

A few yrs ago there were massive reformulations of frags by the IFRA as some ingredients like oak moss were deemed to be an allergen. A number of frags that were released many yrs ago (e.g 50 yrs) had to be reformulated and some were even discontinued as synthetic substitutes could not be found.

"Oak moss extracts (e.g. absolute, resinoid, concrete, etc.) obtained from Evernia prunastri should not be used such that the level in consumer products exceeds 0.1%. In the presence of tree moss extracts the level of oak moss has to be reduced accordingly such that the total amount of both extracts does not exceed 0.1% in the final product.
Furthermore, oak moss extracts used in perfume compounds must not contain added tree moss. Tree moss contains resin acids. The presence of resin acids can be detected by using a routine analytical method available from IFRA*. However, traces of resin acids are unavoidable in current commercial qualities of oak moss. As an interim standard, these traces must not exceed 0.1% (1000 ppm) dehydroabietic acid (DHA).
This recommendation is based on test data on the sensitising potential of oak moss and tree moss extracts, their cross-reactivity and the absence of sensitisation reactions when tested at 0.6%. In addition, it has been shown that oxidation products of resin acids contribute to the sensitising potential. This adaptation to the Standard aims at reducing exposure to resin acids, while waiting for the final outcome of a current research program.”

excerpt taken from IFRA regulations.

To add,
The greater danger is in fake perfumes where there is no regulation whatsoever in the ingredients used. I don't get it why so many ppl r willing to take such great risk just to save some money. Penny wise but pound foolish.

Now my skin no longer shows any allergic reactions to Le Male or Bogart Pour Homme or any other frag. I guess at that time I was using harsh skincare products that made my skin sensitive. Now I use less harsh products and it helped a lot. A little moisturizer n no more L'Oreal Men goes a long way LOL.

some nights are quite windy or just after a rain...
can be in mid-20s at times... thats "cooler" than usual right smile.gif

but the emphasis i was trying to raise was the HOT and HUMID days which has a cloying effect especially on heavier fragrances (typically gourmands and orientals) such as le male, a*men, pi, envy etc...

if online, try to get them from those authorize reseller or from the brand main site itself for 100% authenticity.. mainly in malaysia we have none that selling online, except those ori reject or whatever their claiming (which i'm not recommended for u to buy!)..

mainly i get my bottle from fragrancenet (US based), strawberrynet (HK based), some fragrance forum, etc...

my suggestion, if you looking for designer brand, just buy it at retail store. you have a piece of mind without worried it's fake or ori..

for new bottle verification with box:
u can check the bottle serial number + serial number on the box, they should be the same.. if not the same, then 100% it's fake.. big designer company is very details on this number, they make sure both bottle & box serial number is a match.. because the number determines the manufacturing date, etc..

usually if the company made a mistake from this numbering process, usually the bottle will be dispose.. and they never ever sell ori rejected to their reseller, since the reject bottle is dispose..

for unbox perfume, it's a bit hard.. try to buy from authorize seller..

for tester, usually they come with box.. check the box serial also, should be the same..

Duty Free is usually around 20-30% cheaper (sometimes more).

Other than counter u can try shops like Just Parfum, SaSa n Perfume Shop. Their prices are around duty free prices. But their stock is older compared to counter n they usually do not give any freebies.

It's still in production.

U starting to sound paranoid about oak moss. Usually the amount used is usually safe or a synthetic substitute is used.
