I heard it's Somalia pirates that stole the international cable.. well that's what I heard though, not sure where's the source comes from

Seems pretty unlikely; what would they want with it? The commodity value is low, and it's not exactly something you can sell on eBay.

....me thinks maybe make a case for future extortion? A small percentage of repair costs would make a nice payout for those pirates.

1. Steal cable

2. Wait for repair teams to arrive

3. Kidnap repair teams for ransom

4. ???

5. Profit!

Lol

well that's what a few people told me what happened.

I cannot give out the source but then it seems like cable can be sold for quite a price as raw material..

understand that it is not only the cable in the sea; xD

Stealing cables few thousand metres deep not likely, but damaging cables to create more job and spoiling your Christmas joyful cheers, YES.

Anyway with the slump in oil prices, it doesn't sound good. Imagine how it will affect the Middle East countries in the next coming months...

Development projects in Dubai..

The tons of workers from South Asia(India, Bangladesh, etc.) flocking there to work in the construction sector.

Becoming jobless..the chain effect and unrest.

Facing the same problem here. RS premium acc speed drop like hell even on my favaourite IP.

Has anyone notice speedtest website didn't show KL testing point? Is this due to the damage cable? KL server also 'bombed'? cry.gif
