QUOTE(calvinloke @ Dec 10 2009, 10:55 PM) Well, since there are sport coats, suit jacket, blazer, etc -- I just wonder whether this too fall into specific category. And is it your time of month again? My bad for stepping on your pad. |

If you are sure it wasn't part of a suit, you can call it an odd jacket or sportcoat. I use blazer for those with contrasting buttons.
And even on my pathetic monitor, I can see vague signs of the buttons on the jacket. You can even find this jacket in maybe tesco? Get your eyes checked. This post has been edited by calvinloke: Dec 10 2009, 11:05 PM |

Geez, not all people had that kind of relationship with clothes ya know.
Great eyes there. I guess it had something to do with raging monthly hormones eh. |

It's a stock standard black suit, the sort you'd wear if you worked as a sales consultant in a KLCC shop or if you were attending a funeral.
Added on December 10, 2009, 11:17 pmMaybe also if you're a bodyguard. This post has been edited by kotmj: Dec 10 2009, 11:17 PM |

It looks good anyway for a one evening event.
Since that girl suggested Tesco (if that's real, it is), maybe I'll go and look over there. + ah, forgot my thanks. This post has been edited by anembor: Dec 10 2009, 11:22 PM |

The thing about the suit is that it is such an old and historied piece of clothing. Over the centuries, the suit has become more than just a garment; there is a lot of custom regulating it's proper wear. If you show up in an event in a black suit everyone who knows about the custom will know you are clueless about it.
And jesus christ, Tesco is no place to shop for clothes. |

Get yourself dark blue. The color is called "navy".
Added on December 10, 2009, 11:49 pmGuys I just came back from an evening of wearing suit #2 (just the jacket). I never would have suspected that a jacket can be this light, drape this well, and wear this cool. 100% kid mohair in 8 oz. is a fabulous fabric for our climate. QUOTE(anembor @ Dec 10 2009, 10:16 PM) What's this called? looks like a black suit to me, the buttons would have been black in color as well, so you probably couldn't see it there.. if there were no buttons, it would still be considered a suit jacket, an odd one..I'm sure its not part of a suit. ![]() There's no visible button either. Well, it could be custom made, but has anyone come across something like this on store rack? a sport coat would typically be worn on its own, and is usually of heavier material such as tweed.. ![]() a blazer is has a more casual feel, commonly in navy color, and traditionally in brass buttons.. ![]() |

Wow, thanks.
I know you'd scream blasphemy, but, will I be able to get it sub RM200? Which popular place in KL/Sel area I can get this around that price? |

And after another 90 pages or so I'm sure this question will pop up again by another indiscriminate fellow with bad eyesight. Perhaps tesco is really the place for you. The price tags are huge.

Got myself one black sport coat-- Your ignorance? Right. And now you went against kotmj's advice and get a black coat? Does throwing in white dress shirt, black khakis sounds elegant (event's theme)? To make it easy: Black sport coat + black khakis = fake black suit = catastrophe This post has been edited by calvinloke: Dec 12 2009, 12:22 AM |

White khakis would turn a catastrophe into merely a small disaster.
Added on December 12, 2009, 12:52 ami.e. pair it with a light-coloured pair of pants. This post has been edited by kotmj: Dec 12 2009, 12:52 AM |

Ouch, I guess I deserve that after all. The color suggested by kotmj just didn't come across my mind when buying last night.
I'll make do with light colored khakis. |
