I keep toying with the idea of a DB in navy with swappable buttons. But I don't like navy. It looks too much like a uniform of sorts; makes me look like a (corporate) foot soldier. But everyone gets one, for some reason.

That silver glen plaid tie would make a perfect wedding tie, IMO. I would love to get married in that necktie.

I didn't know Malaysia has gay marriage rights.

I am totally the opposite. I would do anything for a navy DB with MOP buttons. Never bother for swappable or not.

However, the heat issues for wearing a DB in Malaysia seems to linger.

If the buttons are swappable, you can use it as a blazer (metal/contrasting buttons) or as a business suit (matching buttons).

Pocket is cut continuously. REAL working cuffs. Underwhelming buttonholes. Hand-stitched lining on bottom hem.

The Chan cloth was only 2.75 m, which wasn't even enough for Thom Brownesque trousers, so we had Bermuda pants made. I believe it is the only kid mohair Bermuda pants in SE Asia.

I bought sewing needles, rayon embroidery thread, and a thimble today. I'll see if I'm any good at pick stitching.

What are those pants?

Hate the cravat-looking tie knot! And the collar too.

The pants were photoshoped in. That's a four-in-hand man, it's GQ+Esquire-certified as a cool knot. I agree with you about the collar.

It is a very thick tie. I prefer them that way. The M&S I bought was very thin and flimsy.

What do you think of this pattern? Dark navy with "subtle" grey pinstripes in a basket weave.

Not bad. However, not a fan of subtle pinstripes myself. The price?

18 pounds/m.

It's 60% kid mohair 40% escorial wool (the most expensive ever). At retail prices this is expensive shit. I'm not a fan of pinstripes myself, but am very tempted by the luxury composition of the fabric.

Oops, I just bought myself a 60% wool/40% kid mohair mix in plain navy. Sigh.

Went to Kinslager. Nice tailor. Ordered a suit. Most of my personal ideas were ok.

I was asked if I wanted handstitched details (like lining on the jacket) however; I don't know yet what I like best. I chose dark grey (but not too dark so that it looks black; just dark grey). I know it's a sign of tailormade suits, but it didn't look too well on the samples that were shown to me.

Besides; I need to chose a fabric for the inner jacket. Do you guys have suggestions on where to find the right fabric? Can I buy it myself easily somewhere in the BB area? Or do you guys know of a website with some nice pattern pictures, which I can simply email to Kinslager so they can check whether they have that fabric (or similar?). I am looking for a dark red color with a nice logo or something like that..dunno yet what I should chose. The inner jacket fabric that was proposed didn't look that great. I know it's just the inside; but I want that to look great too.

Thanks smile.gif

Kinslager is not a forum-approved bespoke artisan (FABA). Nobody here has any experience with them. I would go to Bespoked 1U instead; it's by a huge margin the safer choice. They give you a good fit even though you may be clueless. The other tailors not so.

You're also worrying about the wrong issues. The lining is of no importance compared to some others.

But do post pics once you get it. At least that way, we know of Kinslager's work.

What's this called?

I'm sure its not part of a suit.

There's no visible button either. Well, it could be custom made, but has anyone come across something like this on store rack?
