Add more blur in Photoshop, mate. I can still make out your name from the picture. Haha.

Stalker alert!! hahaha

On a related note, as mentioned abt public enemies, the hidef video does the suits justice and u can see a lot of minute details since michael mann, the director, likes a lot of close ups.

I am going to see the movie not because i like mafia/ gangster culture. But will see it because i can say to myself, spot this and that on their clothing. Many of the forummers in Fedora Lounge agree the costuming is almost perfect. Also can its a visual treat to acompany my mafia book on USA criminals that time. hahaha.

Anyway ther is another thing i noticed. Your lining is different color but same pattern. My Italian off the rack also have the same feature. But its on the sleeves and the outside pocket flaps. I wonder if it is a trademark or some sort?

Thats an interesting article. I didn't know that the 3 partners sold Spark Manshop to another company. Its like them doing a Jimmy Choo ya? But they were really the first thing that comes to mind when getting a tailored suit back then.

So Granoff is owned by the 3 partners of RH or the new Spark Manshop company?

i know they were branched out from Spark Manshop as Mansor and his associates previously worked there, furthermore their fabric is taken from Spark Manshop as well.. im not too sure who are the owners, but if it is in fact the 3 partners of RH who owns Granoff, just wanted to clarify that they own Granoff Malaysia, and not Granoff..

I think the more appropriate term would be operating a franchise in Malaysia right?

i just wanted to point out that those three people do not own Granoff as a whole (assuming it is that three people)..

Maybe the brothers Phua got some interest also inside....best in Singapore, JB and some say KL...

Aiya, dunno la them people on managing/ marketing/ reselling/ rebranding thing. Everything is all for money. In the end, the final product would feel "soul less".

If you have a picture maybe can see. But u know what cardinal sin almost everyone who sells slim suits does? They don't have high armholes. They make it big but when you hold your arms anywhere, the suit jacket bunches up there. Go up the suit it carried up from the sides. And they dare say it is slim fit? BTW this type of tailoring is very old technique.

The only best slim fit suit i have ever seen are some worn by Andy Lau. Usually the armholes are high which highlights the are even slimmer. The fitting is actually like a shirt.

What do you think about it?
Kinda picking up to liking suits and what not

I have that. Its called nehru collar. But its not a complete suit, i have just the coat.

Picking up whats to like and not? Er..... its not something you can encourage. I mean its just clothes right?

I think Ting Lik has better suits than Hui Man Keong. But subjective as there are times Chow looks better. The most gaya for Chow would be his times as The God of Gamblers la. Or is it a Better Tomorrow Mark Kor?

It will be good if some1 can come up with a post to explain bout Suit Jacket/Tuxedo/Sportcoat/Blazer , the difference, occasion that suitable to wear it, the origine, the cutting and preferably the brands or shop to get it.

Can simplify it like this.

Normal suit u see everyday, black, blue or grey office wear. Those u see in G2000 business wear range.

Tuxedo is usually black or very dark blue (midnight blue). Only wear during the night on very formal occasions. Usually with bowtie. The pants usually has a long stripe on the side and the lapel/ collar is usually satin of some shiny material. This indentifies the tuxedo.

Sportcoat and blazer is usually just the coat matched with something of different color for the pants. Less formal than the business suit. Match with jeans would be casual wear. In fact if u orphan a business suit it automatically becomes a blazer or sportcoat. hahaha.

I could get technical, but not necessary. This rough idea is good enough to get u around many shops.

Coat/blazers starts from RM20-RM5K and suits start from RM190-POA. Tuxedos start from RM1500-POA.

Well this correction makes me chuckle. When i quoted all of 30s' glory. I am considered bias. But when you quote "this time and age of ignorance" it kind of makes me wonder where, when, why and how? So i'm a little lost here. Which year do you reference? hmm.gif

Starting from the time where clothiers and fashion retailers started using the single term "blazer" for everything.  Remember the old days where there used to be a clear line between suit jackets, blazers, sportcoats; having distinct features (fabric, buttons, pockets, etc). As fashion evolved and fashion designers started getting creative, those features were mostly lost, replaced or fused together and thus blurring the line separating the garments. As golden buttons get phased out and db style got less popular among young people, true blazers slowly cease to exist.

Ahhhh.... approx late 60's onwards.

If he is a model for that suit, it explains it all. The suit wasn't fitted for him.

Altering the shoulders would be an expensive affair. Do ask the tailor first.

I was quoted RM150 for shoulder by some alteration shop before. I think could be more as she just estimate only.
