I heard somewhere they were going to concentrate on marketing their phones in asia, since that is where the market is, with the US, only a 922sh type phone would probably sell, and in europe, they'll just complain phone is too big

706p wont, i thought you've been researching on it a lot hehe, pretty much 904sh, 705sh, 705p/706p, and I think the toshibas wont lock up again. The only problem you may face on your 706p is a really tight fitting sim card, be ready to sand paper down your sim card laugh.gif

sharp going into indonesia seems like a start into south east asia, but i dont even know why they chose indonesia to start off, and then not sell in hong kong anymore

probably the problem is hypersim and phone problems, i noticed the areas most of the jphones work best are any country with large overseas chinese populations where those sim cards are probably go through more testing for working right for their local telcos.

yeah they are made in china or in taiwan, but i think for mass production in china. Usually working together with the unlockers in taiwan getting the phones to work.

Though one of my hypersims, was made in taiwan a quicksim. lol

I thought we cant just buy the phone straight away ? Need to sign contract right ?

Lots of procedure & documents like IC card, bills & birth certificate are required to prove that you are staying in Japan.

Maybe you can get help from your neighbour in doing this during your stay in tokyo.
*
yeah its a pain from what i read, need a resident alien card. need to find a whiterom shop to buy the phone without contract

They are reliable. Depends on your local service provider whether you will get a strong signal or a weak ones.

which one heh, 706p I traded for a gold nec n905iu plus top up, was like 4000yen from yahoo japan auctions, but the fees added up to nearly 9k yen sad.gif, which i sent to a friend for his white 903sh, but he ended up feeling guilty of letting go of the 903sh, which took him a long time just to get working.

so905ics price...it was cheap brows.gif

found this on mobile01, 8mp comparo

actually i am not too sure about that...perhaps awong can tell us more?

post paid required for softbank roaming, prepaid sim cards do not roam abroad. Reprovisioning doesnt cost money, what the cost is getting the softbank usim and prob paying the minimum fee which to get a softbank usim active is really hard to do. I almost bought a 705px over 6months ago on ebay b/c it came with an active prepaid along with phone for less than rm600. But when i found out it couldnt roam, I passed up on buying it

With the 920p, unlock process is like the 923sh, where you are tied to one sim card and cant switch sim cards, so when you sell it, buyer needs to do the same unlock process if you had it done before. THat is why in the case of the jphone users in north america with 923sh/920p, they had to send their sim cards to taiwan to get the process done b/c no one offers the services (yet...)
