icon_question.gif i'm having a dilemma here .i want to upgrade to a q6600 but i'm afraid that i'll go wasting my money .

i'd like some reasons to justify my purchase such as will a q6600 at 3.2\3.0 ghz be on par with q9550 standard? rclxub.gif

IF i oc a q6600 to 3.6ghz,will it be as fast as a qx9770 standard thus making about 25% slower than a core i7 920? rclxub.gif

i use my pc mainly for gaming, video transcoding and such thus,is it worth buying this processor?[i'm not upgrading to a dual core processor though]

for around rm600,is the q6600 worth the cash?

and how does it compare to the phenom 2 x4 processors?

thanks. notworthy.gif

i'm just saying that if it is oc'ed to high clockspeeds [baring in mind that is is

65nm,lacks sse4.1,4mb less cache, consumes more power and such]will it be

able to match a standard q9550?

btw,thanks for the quick answer.

one more thing,is the xigmatek hdt-s963 a good cooler?

it is quite cheap

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Jun 3 2009, 06:09 PM)
ignore ktek tongue.gif laugh.gif

anyway,i've personally tested all the HDD u mentioned, so far in real world use,u can feel slightly different,no matter how still 5400RPM vs 7200RPM.
and the warranty of Black is longer than the green one. And from my test,Green is hotter sweat.gif i also wonder why.

so,Ace do you think it is worth the money [wd black]?

how about samsung spinpoint f1?is it good?where can i find it in lyp?

basically the e5200 is a cut down version wolfdale [e7xxx\e8xxx].architechturally it's the same as the other core 2 duo but withreduced cache,o vt,no sse4

it's now called pentium e5200.not pentium dual core anymore

i got a noob question to ask
say,i transfer a single 1gb file from partition c to d [within the same hdd],the transfer rate is 35mb\s.

but when i benchmark my hdd with hd tune the average transfer rate is 90mb\s and the minimum is 60mb\s.

my question, why the rate in real life transfer is slower than benchmark?is it because ahci is not enabled?

thanks

it's more likely than not you have to change the icute psu to another one that can deliver more power as normally the icute psu can only deliver 250w of continuos power.based on reviews it is enough for a hd4850 but you'll be stressing your psu to the max

mrsars

i suggest you wait 3 weeks for the lga1156 cpus to be available.the p55 boards for these cpus support both sli and cf

anyways,this is the rough recommendation

I5 750 RM750
P55 BOARD RM450
KINGSTON DDR3 4GB RM250
XFX GTX285 RM1200
XIGMATEK 500W PSU RM220

RM2870

however i suggest changing the gtx285 to gtx275 as the gtx275 is only about 10% slower yet costs rm850 only.what's your monitor resolution?

btw, this is not the place for recommendations.you should post at the recommendations thread or make your own thread here.

iinm amd is already maxing out the potential of it's 45nm deneb cpus.but, they really like to cut prices so for certain budgets they are the best choice.

about the lcd,why do you need the 4 3 function?

take a lokk at aoc angelo and acer x233h,both are good for the price

gtx260+ sli is roughly nearly equal to gtx295

gtx275 sli is gtx295.

see here for gtx260+ sli vs gtx295

nope, the gtx285 2gb makes no difference in performance compared to stock gtx285.it's just a marketing gimmick to sell pricier gpus

imo the gtx260+ sli is better
