1080p eh?then you should consider the rm560-600 gtx260+ or hd4870 512mb rm490.both are good performers on 1080p [the gtx260+ is better though]

QUOTE(cartman87 @ Sep 28 2009, 06:24 PM)
okie~

nway my specs would be (buying next month):

i7 920 D0
DFI T3eh6
1TB western digital HDD
3 GB kvr 1333 mhz (sufficient rite?)
HD 5850
Haf 922 casing (adding 2 more 90 cfm fans to casing)
corsair TX 750
prolimatech megahalems cooler (push pull with 2 90cfm fans)

planned to buy it last month but holiday overspent. LOL...
*
nice specs.however, personally i would take a cheaper psu and get more ram [4gb is nice but 6gb is better, tri channel tech doesn't really affect performance except for synthetic benchmarks]

@cartman87,even a 500w psu is enough.why not take a st56f?costs around rm350 or a xigmatek 650w modular psu rm350 also

for your hdd needs, the st56f still can handle it.however for serious i7 920 oc + cf hd5850 oc,you'll be better off with the 750w psu

cpu aka central processing unit aka processor is not the whole desktop

actually for the price you can't find any similar performance system.
an alienware aurora alx would have the same performance but at a much higher cost

Added on September 28, 2009, 9:01 pmiinm when 1 slot used=x16,doesn't matter which slot you use.

then again, most cards performance aren't affected by pcie slot speed except topend cards [5870],this is based on an article on tomshardware

here's info on overclocking aka oc
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overclocking

it's basically a way to speed up your pc parts [this case it's the cpu] without buying a faster part

about the casing, you can use any mid tower or full tower casing you like

if you know what you're doing then it's awesome

for instance,if you overclock the i7 920 to 3.33ghz [damn easy],you'll get i7 975 performance without it's crazy rm3.5k price

a core i7 975 extreme 3.33ghz costs usd1000 or rm3.5k.but,if you oc your 1k cpu a bit to 3.33ghz,you can get the exact same performance of a rm3.5k cpu.you can save more than 2k there

actually, you should just do it yourself.[are there even shops that provide overclocking service?]

however you should read guides thoroughly first before attempting any overclocks.learning this 'art' might seem hard at first but actually it's far easier than form 4 additional mathematics

overclocking will not make the cpu burn in flames.
not good enough cooling=throttle down, shut down
