i just got a new 2gb dimm and i put it in my pc,the thing is,i can't boot into windows normally but i have to run memory diagnostics, cancel it and then i can boot.
this only happens when i pair the 2gb dimm with my old 1gb dimm from kingston, the old ram ddr2 667 1gb kingston the new ramddr2 800 2gb apacer
i adjusted the speed and timing for the rams to match each other already

@chokudori,you don't need a gtx295 or hd4870x2 for 1080p.seeing that another round of ati vs nvidia graphics war will start soon, buying a high end card right now would be wasting your money.why?because new gen dx11 cards will be sold less than a month from now [hd5870].
that said,i recommend getting a gtx260+ for rm570.it's powerful enough to run nearly all games on max at 1080p barring crysis of course, smoothly.

QUOTE(power.avenger @ Sep 16 2009, 05:49 AM) clearly, HDMI rite? Racerx, do you mean that da gtx260 just for temporary? means that he shud take 5870 when it enters market? yeah, use it as a temporary gc,you'll regret later if you buy gtx285\4870x2 now

the hd5870 is a new card,dx11 in fact.that's why ati sells it expensive eventhough they can sell it cheap like the hd5850's price if they need to.other than that is the fastest single gpu card in the world

upgrade options for that build are wide open, you can add another hd5850,add more rams, swap for a 6core core i9 when it's available etc
you just need to have the cash for it [and it seems like you have lots of it]

actually it does if you intend to oc the 920 heavily [like more than 4ghz].but,if you're only intending for 3.5ghz+-,the normal rams would do fine

QUOTE(cartman87 @ Sep 28 2009, 06:20 PM) @Racerx thx for the help... cuz i'm really tight on budget. hav to choose kvr 1333 cuz it's wayyy cheaper than kingston hyperx 1600 mhz. gonna use the $$ i save from ram to upgrade GPU. you shouldn't worry then, the kvr 1333mhz will do fine even for 4ghz oc
