Guys...
If you have been to Surabaya...lets share some info in here.
What are the activities can be done there/food and so on.
By the way, is it easy to get to Bali from here?

go to bromo.
Find Bromo Sunrise Tour.
During my faculty conference there, it is the best activity i had there.
I want & will go there again soon biggrin.gif

you'll go there by bus in midnight. few hours journey.
Then change to a van due to smaller & more dangerous roads.
Then change again to a jeep. kinda like a scrambler jeep.
Reach the top in time for sunrise.
They drive like mad. Makes u fear for your life looking at the steep cliffs inches away from the u sweat.gif

The air is a bit cold there.
So if u can't stand it, rent a thick sweater there. Few bucks only.

After sunrise, go down with the same jeep to a place to ride horses.
A lot of horses. like 400 there all owned by the native there.
They'll take u for a ride to the top of a volcano.

In short, the experience is quite interesting.
We don't have that kind of stuff i Malaysia.

6 Years in Malang (city southern of Surabaya)
2 years in Shah Alam, Selangor DE
was born there in Surabaya.

It's understandable if you feel bored in Surabaya
because you only can enjoy surabaya if you know the history
and you need local people to show you interesting place in there

got a lot of delicious food
got a lot of shopping mall
many historical place
got dynamic night life tongue.gif

it's all in the city
if you have transport
you can go to other destination around Surabaya
mount bromo is one of the favorite destination been there 2 times

I did surabaya some months ago. Nothing significant to see in the city itself, the attractions are mostly outside the city. Mt Bromo is one of them but I didn't get to go since there were kids around. Stayed at Sheraton, negotiated with some drivers to take us around, show us the sights, shopping and food.

Good trip but I guess nothing special to make me want to go again.

Hi,
Going to Surabaya next week for 5days.
Just wonder whether it's easy to book trip and arrange stuff after I arrive Surabaya?

Plan to spend 2-3 days at Mt Bromo area do some hiking and trekking.

My experience from Bandung and Yogyakarta tell me that things is cheaper if I arrange on-site rather than do on-line.

Any idea?
