you are accurate. i thought when you mentioned more than 3GB on Core 2 Duo, you referred to the current macbook alums as well, which wasn't the case.

in any case.. i got spare DDR3 1GB sticks that i don't know what to do with it. and stupid machines don't take trade-ins (and why is that? no make sense). wtf we supposed to do with the 1GB DD3 sticks? keychains? thats a waste.. could be put to better use by others.

machines can't take back the RAM cos of warranty issues... the RAM stick doesn't have a separate warranty, its warranty is only as part of the Mac you purchased.

Apple = quite strict on this

The new aluminium MacBook should take up to 6GB of RAM. It should be Core 2 Duo Penryn.

So my MB is 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo...Black Book... so the RAM currently 1g... so can i know whats my max???? Shud i u buy another 2gb ddr2 667?? and it will be 3 gig or i can push straight away to 4 gig? thanx

i thin urs max is 4 gb ddr2 667 mhz...so, just buy 2 rams...currently the rams for ddr2 are freaking cheaap..

from the macrumors...they recommend crucial....but forumers has been using kingston, mushkin and cosair rams....all of them are alright...

for me, i opt for kingston because apple rams are actually from kingston (for certain models)

in lowyat....2gb ddr2 667 ram currently i think around 50 + for one piece...

can u please give me the specific model number so i can buy em please...

kingston should be alright..don't worry about it...for previous c2duo model like santa rosa or penryn model, i think they all use kingstons if i'm not wrong....
