which omega seamaster is this? the Planet Ocean? why 12k? i thought after discount its about 9.5k?

generally its Elaboré grade for Doxa, Mido, Guinand.. eps watches that cost US$1K. under US$1K generally its Standard like my CW.
depending on brands some do a better job at regulating the movement. anyway standard and Elabore diff is how well its regulated, I think I can get a local watch maker to get it done nicely..
limited cash.. only option is Doxa, unless u can find the cash to get the OMEGA b4 next increase else.
its hard to compare... Omega is 2X the price of Doxa. have the money of course Omega.
anyway both brands has a nice history. Doxa started back in 1889, Omega in 1848.

AR coating damage can always sent in to get it coated.
putting a plastic over it, it just dorky.. might as well don't wear and put it in a safe.

U cannot say its like underwater phones... many of these phones can be stolen goods/export model only or those that "fell off a truck during shipping".

Since you already said you want both......and yet cant go out and get both.....
get a Doxa first.  it looks like you're hooked on it.  Price is reasonable and i think it has its own admirers.  Sure, you read about problems in forums but hey.....what do you expect? Forums are places to find complaints, dissatisfactions, etc. Every brand also got lemons.  Read forums on the IWCs, Rolex and even the great Sinn....you'll find all kinds of horror stories, now and then.... But then, that's what warranties are for.  If you've been reading problems about certain Doxa pieces, i am sure you would have read users' experience about how Doxa handle complaints and watches being returned for checking/repair.  If users are generally satisfied, i think its safe...

then how about the Omega? Well, save up..(since you're indicating you dont have the dough now...).  If you prefer the sword handed Omega Sea master and really loves it, go for a pre-owned.  Singapore and local ADs will have second hand....Dont go for the current arrow hands PO if you're not convinced with the design....(i am the other way round...i love the current POs..) ..
yeah...price will always go up and the issue is always can your savings rate compensate increasing prices? i think you can, if you know how to manage your funds well....

Then you should get a submariner instead of PO 

dont worry....a watch purchase from months of savings + drooling + sleepless night + recent pay rise is always the most meaningful one.....!

but for me...the PO design and co-axial movement just captivates me......I've never bother to browse Rolex forums...its just way out of my league..hehehe
