QUOTE(miaopurr @ Mar 31 2010, 07:27 PM) a question about movements. if a watch comes with a standard unmodified ETA-2824 (for example), can we go to any shop here in malaysia to service or repair our watch? what if it comes with a modified and decorated movement? for example, Doxa SUB1000T. What is a decorated movement anyway? Can I go to any shop for a repair or to service it? ETA 2824 is pretty common movement, most of the qualified watchmaker is able to service it and plenty of parts are available. Depends on the level of modification, some manufacturer will upgrade some parts to a better quality ones and some will put in blue screw, engrave or design the rotor, etc. This post has been edited by ck77: Mar 31 2010, 08:00 PM

nando, you don't have swiss watch now? I thought you got a few? Anyway, my vote go for Sinn, for its name and the material used. I do like the tube gas of Ball, but I find its price is on the high side.

QUOTE(nando @ Apr 8 2010, 04:04 PM) i got 2 poor man's Tissot only ..3-4 years old...quartz....if paste here all the sifus laugh..hahaha.. so i consider my coming purchase to be the first `luxury' item..... too bad...no-one giving me 15k present..haha! Interesting you mention price....that's one of the reason why i am debating on the Ball...the original price is RM..9500..AD will give 30% discount, so it will be selling at around RM 6600. Someone is selling his 1 year old good condition Ball Dual Time for RM4700..if i consider in terms of value....this looks live value for money... Of course the Sinn brand new is about RM5000..... Or is it a case of Ball pricing already too high in first place....i thought Ball watches always value for $? Ball is value for money, but this model the price is on high side, in my opinion la. Since you read many forums, any shortlisted watches in your mind? This post has been edited by ck77: Apr 8 2010, 04:19 PM

Movement aside, technology aside, features aside, second hand value aside. At the end of day, is how much you fancy the watch and how much joy the watch will bring to you. So guys, buy whichever that you LIKE Watch purchasing is very personal, anyway My RM0.02 This post has been edited by ck77: Apr 9 2010, 10:27 AM

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Apr 9 2010, 10:43 AM) U hope your income increase faster than those price increase.. else U may have a hard time getting your hands on it. or just get a pre-own. Exactly, don't like the new COSC dial. Only way is search in pre-own market for pre-COSC version.

QUOTE(nando @ Apr 9 2010, 11:33 AM) i like the Pilot A auto. Miyota brown...you? [attachmentid=1519007] say..maybe order together...save on Fedex Charges? but how is quality compare to Archimede/Steinhart.....? i know cannot beat Stowa la. Cool I want the B dial one. No need together la, shipping is free ma Quality so far no problem from feedback in WUS. I like its originality of the pilot strap They are one of the 5 original b-uhr makers during WWII http://www.calibremagazine.com/node/305Suddenly many Laco fans here, let's help them to come out from the red This post has been edited by ck77: Apr 9 2010, 11:41 AM
