@gamenoob,
g3n0c|d3 is right. I used the i3G for almost an entire year without subscribing and paying for data charges smile.gif Just need to disable APN smile.gif

@wigilante,
Possibly - I will add that model number to Post #1 now. It sure is interesting to see so many different model numbers for this particular region. Then again it might be the same for the other places except we aren't tracking.

@nokia2003,
Get it replaced just before U get urself the new upgraded iPhone in 2010. That way when you sell your i3GS U can claim it's almost brand new. The bad thing about it being brand new is that U can't quite test to ensure things are functioning the way it's supposed to be.

@viosowner,
I recognise the nick but I certainly don't remember what your queries & questions are. Do hope you're enjoying your new toy. I'm loving mine esp with MobileMe push email - they're so fast; it's almost immediate!

Updated model numbers for MY region.

@viosowner,
I've just started using the MobileMe service but thus far, I haven't experienced any battery issues. I'll do a test this weekend - then again, I'm not getting as many emails on my MobileMe account cause it's still new - and report back re battery status.

@hazahazdy,
You're going to need that Maxis Service Card or whatever they call it; otherwise U will require the actual owner of the line/iPhone to go in to make the warranty claim for U.

@serpent1990,
Just the service card is good enough but if U have lost that, then U will need the owner. This information was told to me by Machines.

@Pennywise,
We don't seem to discuss too much about Canadian sets; U can however get information on cost at http://www.apple.com/ca/iphone/buy/

Am not sure if the iPhone 3Gs from Canada will be locked or unlocked but I've a feeling it remains a locked unit. Yes U can always unlock it urself (though I don't recommend it) and yes unlocking it urself will void warranties [but that's not a big issue since U can always restore everything back to normal before U go claim warranty]

@Pennywise,
At USD199, I'm quite sure it's a locked unit. Also, I'm not so sure if you're even able to get it at that price without a plan. But it's best if you checked it out and not take my words for it.

Also, 16GB should be suffice depending on what you intend to use your iPhone 3G for. I'm on the 32GB model and would prefer to have more than enough space than insufficient space smile.gif

@Ken,
Go for the i3G only if you don't have the financial means for the i3GS. Given a choice, U wouldn't want an outdated (old model) car, but would prefer the latest available model, right?

@afiqkhairi,
According to Machines 1U that is possible smile.gif It is only if you don't have the Maxis Service Card that U will need the owner to go make the claims.

@Pennywise,
Like I said, USD199 is definitely not the outright purchase price smile.gif Ah well, it does look like Msia is one of the cheaper alternatives for the iPhone. Australia sets are getting expensive with the high forex; was at the $ changer earlier and apparently AUD is now 3.05 *gulp*

@skittlesz07,
I've not had much battery issues; on an average day, it'll last me till i get home but I charge it when i'm in the office and have a car charger just in case *grins* The only time the phone batt died on me was when I was expecting it to wake me up for an important function; I was late cause the batt died and the alarm didn't go off sad.gif

@skittlesz07,
Worry about the problems when it comes; don't start worrying about it now - just enjoy the experience of an iPhone.
