Previously a normal clerk can drive a nice Wira...few years back lar...
Bonus is awesome...
But now bursa is part of listing company, don't think they provide that great bonus anymore.Else how to report to shareholder ler?
Furthermore market no good.stock commission also lower, income lower...at the end bonus = low (my point of view)

No Idea. But it has a nice environment, nice basement car park, nice building. Worked there for 2 years as a vendor. Bonus and benefits are quite good.

Management Trainees = RM3k, after that, anywhere between 3k -5k (exec level)

perks are great, high EPF contribution and unlimited outpatient / dental.

you get housing, car and computer loan.

What position are you applying for?

I sent my resume in Dec 2008 and I got the call just this Monday. But when I sent my resume/application form I haven't graduated yet, I just graduated early this month so I guess they were waiting for me to graduate first.

I have an interview next week, really nervous. Hopefully will get it. Management Exec post. Wish me luck!

Hi, does anyone know what are the prospects of working in SC as a MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE?

What is the starting basic salary?

I heard that the program duration is 2 years. What will happen to the employee after 2 years?

Does the salary will be increased in the 1st year?

Anyone knows about this? please provide me the info.

Thank you.

Hi. I just passed the first stage. The next stage is next week, if I pass that stage, I'm in!

I asked them, they said after 2 years you will become a senior executive. I didn't ask about salary and benefits though.

My friend shared his experience with me before.
the 2nd stage, its going to be a case study.
It's going to test the way u solve problem, your way of thinking, and your immediate response if you face a situation.
And yes, its really tough. Just be confident with your answer. Dont look nervous because SC as a regulator/investigator, u need someone who can pretend everything is ok eventhough it is not.
You must be good since they called you straight away. My friend waited for almost a month to get the 2nd interview.
So, wishing u good luck and success.

Wah great info! hmm.gif

I guess I really want the job so I need to do my best. My friend always tell me I'm very calm when people try to badger me with questions, so that might be the reason they decided to let me pass the 1st stage. Thanks for the info! Did your friend got the job? How is he/she doing?

I'll share with you guys my experience when the interview is over, wish me luck!

Thanks again ex2993! You've helped me a lot smile.gif

Yes that's what I applied for. I sent through email and by hand, through despatch because at that time I was doing my attachment at a law firm. Then they asked me to email the form again when they decided they wanted to interview me. They will ask you to sign later on when you're there for the first interview.

Hi again!

I just finished my 2nd interview few hours ago hehe. It was okay la. I got a case study on immigration problems in Europe, I proposed my own suggestions, the interviewer asked me questions. I kinda expected it to be tougher, but it was alright. I don't know if she thinks I did okay too of course! I might have bombed it without me realising!

After case study there was role-play questions, I was the MD for a company, and this company sponsored an athlete. The lady interviewer was the supervisor of the athlete, and we sort of had a conversation together on certain problems given based on the different scenarios.

Then, it was the motivational and values assessment. I didn't expect this stage because my friend who had her interview yesterday didn't have this. This is where I was given cards representing motivations and values, and there's another set of cards representing situations. According to each of this situation, I pick 6 cards from the values and motivation group and i choose which one is of least importance, up to the one I think is the most important to me depending on how i felt with the situation. Something like that.

I finished that, I asked what's the next stage. The lady said the next stage will be an online assessment they will email to me. I haven't got the email yet so I guess I have to wait until they're happy with my results, then that must be the final stage. They said by next week. So hopefully!

So did your friend get the job?

I heard a lot of people are resigning/have resigned because they have better offers from other places. That's why they're recruiting new GMEs. Congrats to her for her new job! BENL sounds familiar, is she a UIA grad? I transfered from BENL to LLB, and I just got my LLB last month smile.gif

Yes I love the office hehe. But I like what they do, that's mainly the reason I want to join. I'm pretty alright about the pay as long as I can really develop there.

Are u sure other company willing to pay 5.6 k?

5k? WOW! ..that's great.
How old is she now? i heard Management executive programme at SC targets Fresh Graduate.
My friend told me, SC is a good place to develop ur career. After 4 or 5 years u at SC, u can earn at least 5 figures of salary at Public listed company.
What is people's perception towards SC?
Anyway, how did ur gf found out the culture working over there? Was it interesting? the work load?
Salary on time? Is there any COLA (Cost of living allowance) or Car Allowance? Anyone knows the benefits? Care to share?

Thank u.

I cant imagine how she can secured a jog as assistant manager as she only 25yrs old.
Work culture in SC is super cool.their office super nice eventho compare with klcc.i know klcc got cool lobby but sc got one too.their office arrangement also is not like traditional office.their attire also cool.

perception?ppl always dun know what is sc but when they know they always thought tht sc ppl earn so much in fact not.
work load is normal.but expect to do some clerk things.culture is superb.everyone is friendly.cool boss and u know their boss soo cool and my gf always say like if not u i will be his second wife (WTF).
salary is always on time.cola i dun see from her slip but maybe because she is on probation period.i dun know bout car allowance either.2.5k is consider small if u working in mont kiara right.

*
My friend who works there tells me the same thing. And I think if I remember correctly, every 6 months your salary goes up. Bonus is 4 months worth of salary. Petronas 7 months I think.

2.5 is not small to me, not for now anyway hehe smile.gif

GME programme is an entry level job position whereas internship is just an internship with the SC for at least 2months.

anyone got thru to the Graduate Management Exec Programme second assessment?

i recently just got thru to the second assessment. However, according to the hr person, she said the second assessment is outsourced to a company outside and she has no idea how it is gonna be like..

unlike how foxlady has gone thru... hmm.gif hmm.gif

by the way

Just for the benefit for those who gonna attend the first interview.

first of all, u will be given a written test...

1) what is your career aspiration
2) your strength and weakness
3) one of your greatest achievement

couldnt remember what is the forth question..

then you will proceed to the personal interview...
which is like normal interview.. asking you to introduce yourself.
what you had learned in your previous workplace.
the challenges you faced.
your hobbies..
what do you know about sc..
if you were to given a chance which department you would like to join...

yeah.. according to the hr person,
you will be rotating btw departments for a maximum of 2 years.
basically it is quite similar to any graduate programe out there.

but within this 2 years u are allowed to apply for any internal job posting and attach to that department for good
hecne you dont really have to serve the full 2 years as GME
In a way it is like entry level job position with the privilege to transfer btw departments... hehe

Where you guys apply for the GME program? I apply thru https://careersatsc.seccom.com.my/career/ and after applying, it's written "Block submission for months" in red on top of my profile after logging in to view my application. Any idea what is that? icon_question.gif

i think it means that you have just applied recently and you are blocked to resend your application in the coming months...

this is to avoid duplication i think. you can always try to call them to check whether they have received your application or not. =)

yeah, I applied like three months ago..only recently I was contacted and got the interview. There are 3 stages:

1st stage: written test; career aspirations, strength & weaknesses, tell something about yourself..followed by f2f interview. they asked me about myself, my major, extracurricular activities...and the interviewer was more interested in my current job as she asked more about it, what I do, where do I go, etc. because I am currently working when they called me for the interview...also they knew how much I was paid. (so hopefully they can give more la hehe tongue.gif )

2nd stge: Personality test. this one is outsourced, all I have to do is answer 52 questions on my values i.e. ranked from high priority to low priority for me e.g. they give you statements and you rank from highest to lowest which one matches your work ethics/your own values; "I seldom break the rules", "I like to work alone", etc.

3rd stage: This is the final stage. I am yet to go for this one, but it will be sometime in January...so I have to wait..and maybe negotiate my interview date since in January my company has so many events in line.

Thanks Lazziboy for the well wish! Hopefully my explanation helps. Did you apply for the same position too?

Is SC a good place to work for a long time (maybe until retirement) or everyone just use SC as a stepping stone to have a great start in commercial world?

I'm quite interested in Audit Oversight Board and investigation stuffs (too much of police procedural movies tongue.gif).

Hi Rawsha!

Well, how should I start? I am not setting any expectations/poisoning the well but I just want to tell you that after the 3rd stage iv, I felt, really exhausted. Like, REALLY exhausted because this one requires you to think on your feet and at the same time you must not give all/lose all.

The final stage iv is outsourced, so you won't see any people from SC iv-ing you in this stage.

Okay, in the 3rd stage, there are 3 sub sections in it, as of below:

Case study: you are given a paragraph for you to read, and then there is a question asking you what you should do pertaining the case, and tell the interviewer why. You must give your rationale and have to lead the interviewer along your line of thought to make sense of your answer.

Emotional quotient: you are given 2 sets of cards, one representing your career dreams/actions, another one representing things that you'll feel/do outside of work. Rank them from the lowest priority to the highest for these two.

Role-playing: You will take on a role of someone in the industry, and the interviewer will take on 3 different roles (stakeholders). So, you will be given a situation in which you find yourself in, and confront the different stakeholder. This is more to test your ability to think on your feet and also your negotiation skills along with your people skills.

Hopefully this helps! rclxms.gif

Hello guys, any one from SC who can share the benefit? I passed my first interview and waiting for a 2nd.

Heard it is one of the best company also to work but I want to know anyone here can share some of the benefits like bonus how much. Medical how much, Culture how? I know it is a GLC so I don't expect the culture to be modern like MNC.

I remember SC used to have unlimited medical till lifetime, and unlimited optical or dental and now when new change of government in 2018, all revised to capping as the SC Chairman under Najib was immediately changed to some stingy dude who is serving now. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hey, how was you 2nd interview? I did my first interview as a video assessment and will be doing an online interview for the second stage.
