QUOTE(joe_star @ Dec 30 2008, 12:53 PM) Will this work with an AM2 mobo? not AM2+ mind you. I heard somewhere that it will Its AM2+ and the motherboard must at least support 95W processor, which is inline with AMD low budget motherboards (avoid the 89W ones). However if you want to overclock then you have get much better motherboard.

Considering it is only slightly more expensive than the 6000+ and plenty less than a 6400+ BE, anywhere close to 300 is fine.
I just want to know if this thing needs a new mobo for me, if yes, I'm going I**el just to be sure I get improvement lol...

QUOTE(BuckRoger @ Jan 10 2009, 09:46 AM) got mine frm all it yesterday, lets see what ive found . its actually Phenom x4 with 2 core deactivatebtw, can any help me on how to change the multiply on ta780g?? looking for the option in bios couldnt find it . thanks hehhe noob here IMHO it's defective.. same like x3 phenom, they re-use back the mass production product to make sumthing more and sell to end-user.. marketing strategy maybe, that make the power consumption no way low. Actually I'm happy with it. I just up the multiplier to 15 and walah! I got 3.0Ghz at stock cooling. I can get it up to 3.3 with 16x multiplier but its not stable as I didnt dare to increase VCore with current cooling.
It is about the same as an E8200. Loses some wins some but less than half the price.

i found some people got it work on geforce 6100 You have to check the motherboard compatibility first. The requirements is that the motherboard must support AM2+ processor, uses DDR2 RAM, support for 95W or higher TDP processors, and most probably BIOS update may be required. Check the motherboard manufacturer website for the CPU Support List and BIOS updates. This post has been edited by lex: Feb 8 2009, 07:37 AM

anyway, ur mobo is geforce 6100 am2 socket?

QUOTE(tolong_saye @ Feb 6 2009, 09:45 PM) based on the latest bios release date, im not sure it have CPUID for Athlon 7750 , since X2 7750 release date around december.. and by theory, this proc can run on ur mobo, since Am2+ proc is backward compatible with Am2 mobo. But u lose some AM2+ features like HT3.0..etc

QUOTE(tolong_saye @ Feb 6 2009, 09:45 PM) I don't think this motherboard can use X2 7750+, its AM2 only... and looking at its CPU Support List.. this motherboard supports up to 89W processors only. Try your luck anyway... QUOTE(pikacu @ Feb 6 2009, 10:04 PM) and by theory, this proc can run on ur mobo, since Am2+ proc is backward compatible with Am2 mobo.
