I dont really need Live View, so is @200 = @300 (in terms of everything else other than Live View)

I plan to get the body + Sony 18-250mm f3.5-6.3

Can someone quickly summarize the difference of @200 vs @300 (other than the Live View)?

GUYS!! my "father" haf old PENTAX ASAHI KM camera... i'm thinking of using the lens... googled already... i think i need a M42 adapter.. just wanna double confirm with sifus in here bout it... true or not?? anyway.. i still need to send the lenses to service.. coz got "whitener" effect from inside lens from old unused item.. u know la wat is it..

i think u can see la from the focal length n aperture from name. so far i only dig this 4 lenses out.. dunno if still got others..
so... can i use the M42 adapter n fix it at my A300??? i know that AF is not-usable... n need a few f-stop down wasn't it...

How do you mount these lenses onto your dad's camera? If it was screw mounted, then chances these are M42 lenses will be high. But if these are something like modern camera mounting system (i.e. a simple twist & click) then chances are that these are not M42 lenses and you buy M42 adaptor for Alpha also useless....

Yeah, they are M42 lenses and will work with an M42 -> MAF adaptor (in M mode only with a +0.3 to +1 EV compensation and everything should be fine)... The two in BOLD are of particular interest, because they are SMC Takumars (IINM), just google "SMC Takumar" and you'll understand...

Bokeh are quite crap on Taks IMHO, but in terms of scharpness, the fifty/1.4 particularly can practically slice frozen salami easy (translation: DAYM scharp)...

The Toki 28mm is okay-okay, but not that interesting... But, WTH, free 28mm lens ma...

Just send it for cleaning, and if IT'S NOT fungi-infested enough to have the coatings eaten off, they'll work fine on your A300...

If you dig up some Russians in the box (Mir, Zenitar, Jupiter, Tair), buzz me!

You might wanna know that I do know how to tune the WB, just that at the time I was lazy to do so and I was just taking the pics purely for fun only. No emphasis on compo or WB or showing portraiture or whatever. Just snap and post for the rest to see only. I even decided not to do any PP on them.

Any more suggestions?
