After playing for about 10 minutes on Davideuck_V-2_HP (latest rom), I decided to go back to Davideuck V-6.

I prefer old notification and Manila. I still encounter the call duration problem where when the call last 2 minutes 15 sec, the call duration = 00:02 and if call duration is 35 sec, the duration = 00:00."

I just checked again and again. Made another 13 sec call. Then checked the "Call History". It says duration 0:00.

After I flash Davideuck V-6 (2 weeks ago), I have Weather Update Connection Error.

I thought is must be the server but till now still not able to connect.
(my company email ok, can received/send, so nothing wrong with my data services).

Anyone also having this problem?

Edit: Problem solved. Anyone having this problem, goto this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...51&postcount=30

daneva, looks like the call duration problem is a true bug. it is displaying as HH:MM rather than MM:SS. Unfortunately I'm not a hacker to hack through all the manila files and find how to fix this... maybe search the XDA forum? wink.gif
*
Hi maesus,

Thank you for confirming it. I wrote in Dutty and Davideuck forum about this but mostly no respond and I thought only I have this bug.

And not only the duration, if you click on the Call History and select one person call (say John), and there
are few calls to/from John, when you press "menu" -> "Delete All Calls", it will only delete today call, previous date
calls not deleted.

This 2 bugs happend to new manila (doesn't matter Dutty or Davideuck rom). That's why I still prefer Davideuck V6 rom (old Manila) BUT I miss the new Calendar.

or i have to bring it to the shop??

I have been using HTC HD for almost 3 months and it's only hot (well actually a little bit hot only) when charging.
Also little hot when I'm using it.

If it is very hoooooooooot, then something must be wrong. Bring back to the shop.

I switched to davideuck from dutty 1.8, nvr encountered this in dutty rom. maybe should try out dutty 2.3...

Added on March 20, 2009, 1:44 pm

jz flashed to Dutty v2.3 last nite, the new manila is impressive, almost make the WinMo interface transparent at the front end! but it's a bit lagging compare to davideuck V6...
*
I'm being using Davideuck_V-3_HP for almost two days and most of the bugs in new manila (like duration) are solved.

I dont like the New Start Menu and I overwrite with "Enlarge Menu" cab and now I'm starting to enjoy the
new manila.

How is the Dutty v2.3? Is it using new start Menu?

BTW, I just found HD_ManillaMods from mun_rus, very cool...all your background has the screen saver pic.

Hi Daneva,

Both Davideuck V-3 and Dutty 2.3 are using the same manila, yup! the start menu become the program menu in previous manila version, which i feel not that "convenience" to access the WinMo settings/Programs, on the other hand, as i mentioned in the earlier posting, the new manila will make more non-pda literal ppl feel easy and not "painful" for them...

btw, plan to flash to Davideuck V-3 to comparison with dutty's 2.3...  brows.gif
*
After more than 2 days, I found Davideuck V-3 very stable and fast. Dont know why I still wanna try Dutty but everytime I flashed his rom, the new manila got bug and whenever I flashed Davideuck rom, new manila bug solved. So I stick with Davideuck rom.

If u dont like new Start Menu, you can install Enlarge Menu cab, work beautifully.

Hi daneva,

i've install the enlarge menu cab and its work perfectly now!

i also "unhide" the program tab in manila registry, and i've encounter one bug in Davideuck v3 rom, once i scroll to program tab, the left and right soft key of all others tab will not referesh and stay as "All program" and "Remove"  hmm.gif

do you encounter the same problem?
*
Hi Bend3r,

I have not unhide the program tab. Can you show me how to unhide it (so that I can test it out for you)? Thanks.

BTW I found a way to disable the new notification. It now work almost like the old one, the different
is when u click at it, it show u only what u click on (give it a try if u hate the new notification).

In the registry, go to HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER and change the "Dll" value to "NotificationManager.dll.bak", then soft-reset.

Edit : I managed to unhide the program tab and yes, the left and right soft key of all others tab will not referesh and stay as "All program" and "Remove". i think it's a bug (just reported this in Davideuck forum, waiting for his reply).

Cheers....

Hi evilpuppy,

Give a try to davideuck V-3 HP and if u dont like the new Start Menu, u can install Enlarge Menu cab
and if u dont like the new notification, u can disable it.

After revert to old Start Menu and old notification (a little different though), I love the new manila (especially the calendar). The rom by davideuck is very stable and fast. I will keep this rom for a while (before new and better one come).

And one more, try mun_rus all background wallpaper, it is superb.

To add on to what maesus mentioned above, you better know what you are doing in order not to brick your HD.

If you have time, just go to below link to undertsand some of the term and what they meant;

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211

Note: The first time when I tried to HardSPL and installed new rom, I read and read and read many many time (and asked so many questions to all the sifu here like kylinlee, Baronic etc...) what is HardSPL and ROM. I'm so nervous and at the same time so thrill to install new rom. Once I get familiar how to install rom, now I get addicted and keep searching for new and good rom. rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

Hi Maesus and Daneva,

"For those having problem with new Rhodium Start Menu not working after "theme-ing", try copy the 5c9aa261_manila file from "Bg4all Analog Home" folder as this file has the new StartMenu code included. All other 5c9aa261_manila files included in other theme pack doesn't have the new StartMenu code and it will break your new StartMenu." -- copied from XDA forum

sorry i'm not familiar with this theme-ing thingy, i have some questions:

1. r u refering to the "mUn bg4allTabs_stockLike_v1.cab"?
2. how to obtain/find "Bg4all Analog Home"? which theme-ing software to install to get this?

your clarification will be very much appreciated!  icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Bend3r,

For me, I use new Manila (Davideuck V-3 HP), disable the new start menu by installing Enlarge Menu cab
and installed mun_res "mUn bg4allTabs_stockLike_v1.cab" for displaying wallpaper for all the tab.
Everything work fine as of now.

As for those using new Rhodium Start Menu, probably maesus can explain further (thanks maesus).
I have not try the new Rhodium Start menu (I really really hate it wub.gif )

Oh yeah, I saw yr reply in one of the Latest HD Radio 1.13.25.24 on "No GPS Bars on GarminXT", you seems very
knowledgeable. So how is the latest radio rom? I have dowloaded it and probably will install tomorrow.

BTW, do we need to hard reset after installing new radio rom?

hi daneva, Thanks for your compliment. I'm just an owner and user of Touch HD, just like you and others too. rclxm9.gif  drool.gif

My first suspect is your contact list. When you pressed "0", it will try to filter and sort all "0" related contacts for you. That takes time. I really can't think of any other reasons yet... Maybe you can experiment: backup and empty your contact list, and see if it still reoccurs, or to rule out contact list problem. Then try to add in your contacts one or more and to see if there is one particular contact that's corrupted. Also must know that Davideuck v6 is using "old" manila, not the new manila with V3-HP. New manila could also be the culprit by itself.

About the new radio 1.13, no... I don't have good experience with this new radio. The 1.10 radio bundled with L26_THDV9.0_WWE_Ultimate worked the best for me. However I gatal tangan went to flash 1.13. The GPS signal bar problem is one, but it also lost signals after a few while, and it took a very long time to fix GPS. Maybe because I didn't Hard-Reset. Then I flashed "back" to 1.12, and it works better. What can I say??  shakehead.gif

Anyway, go ahead and flash it and give it a try. But it still doesn't have rilphone.dll for 1.13 yet. Maybe I'll give it a try again when the rilphone.dll file is out.

So hard-reset or not... up to you. smile.gif
*
Hi maesus,

Thank you very very much ...yes, I addded few contacts and I removed those contacts that I added and now
I'm able to dial 01xxxxxx... thumbup.gif

Oh okay, I will wait and see other comment of the new radio 1.13.

Thanks again. rclxms.gif

I have flashed back to radio 1.13, from 1.12 + rilphone.dll (1.12). It works very good now.

OK, I have one problem, although I already have the solution but I don't like the way it works. Is there anyway to *manually* enable/disable cellular data connnection (like GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA etc) when I think there is a need to do that?

Right now, my solution is use Advanced Config 3.3 to disable "GPRS auto attach". This allows only MMS can work but no more GPRS stuff triggered from my phone. I have to turn it ON and soft-reset every time I want to get to use cellular data connectivity. So I thought of how about a manual "button" for me to turn ON /OFF without soft-reset?
*
What is rilphone.dll (1.12) and where can i get it?

I think you have two way to turn off the data connection.

1) Go to "Setting" --> "Communication", click off the Data Connection
2) Install NO GPRS cab.

I use NO GPRS.

Cheers.

so which radio do you guys think it's the best so far? i'm still using the stock radio...

Hi Maesus, I'm not sure why do you need to manually enable the gprs connection. If you wanna surf some website it will auto connect right? if you want to manually disable then u can use the end button key to end the data connection, which i use that everytime i finish surfing the net. smile.gif

Hi menghua84,

I have inserted few contacts for the past few days and after that try to dial 01xxx, it doesnt allow,
so I follow maesus solution ie..removed those I have inserted and do a soft reset.
Then I try to dial 01xxx, and it work!!!!

Note: Dont know whether it's my new contacts cause the problem, but hey, I'm glad it's ok now.

My guess is for those who do not subscribe to unlimited gprs/data, then if we connect to Wifi and
suddenly wifi got no connection, it will auto connect to 3G/HSDPA and it will charge gprs charges and
trust me, it is very expensive.

So even though I have unlimited, I still installed NO GPRS as if I travel oversea, I do not want to
use 3G/HSDPA to surf (surfing while roaming is chargeable even you subscribe unlimited data).
So once I disconnect the Data, I can safely look for wifi and not afraid wifi suddenly got no connection
while roaming.

Cheers.....

Hi maesus,

After read thru xda forum on rilphone.dll, need to confirm from you before I flash new radio + rilphone.dll.
Is the below steps correct ?

1) Install the .cab (BS_Rilphone_1_12_25_16.cab) - since 1.13 rilphone.dll not available
2) After installed the cab, power off the HTC HD
3) Flash new radio (1.13) via MicroSD
4) Completed...

Note: When I upgraded stock radio rom to radio rom 1.12, I did not installed any rilphone.dll.

Thanks in advance.

I think you have to start with your existing radio 1.12, then only get rilphone 1.12 flashed. Then only proceed to 1.13.

And 4) ... power off again, and power on.

but honestly, I think the steps won't make too many differences... if anything went wrong, just revert back to 1.12 wink.gif

*
This is my personal view on Iphone (high level) after playing with my friend one for 2 hours ;

Pro
==

1) OS very stable and the touch screen is fantastic
2) Safari browser got no match.
3) Multimedia - music and movie is the best in PDA range

Con:
===

1) Bluetooth is proprietary (not able to bluetooth song among other PDAs)
2) Songs/apps need to download from Itune (unless you know another work around)
3) Not able to play around with new rom (like HTC, thanks to XDA developer)
4) Better get use to only using finger as stylus dont work (need special stylus, cost more than RM100)

Note : WM6.5 almost launch and WM7 coming soon (hopefully xda developer able to flash rom with wm7)

Yeah, one more thing, if you get from maxis, you need to subscribe to the package 6, 12 or 24 months
and the package is not cheap. Eg. you subscribe to RM150 pkg, the data and voice is spilt around half half.
That mean you only have around RM75-80 for voice call and this also only apply for local call (IDD and roaming not included).

So anyone want to subscribe to ivalue plan, need to read carefully the term and condition.

Hi All,

I have just flashed Dutty V2.4 rom. Well so far so good and most of the bugs in previous rom are solved.

What I like about this new rom is that the memory used only around 50% compare to Davideuck V-3 HP which is around 70% memory usage

Cheers..
