I'm also in a search for a headset mainly for gaming and voip chat. Plan to match with a Xonar DG. Currently don't plan to spend too much. Wish we could get US pricing instead of the inflated prices we pay here. 

Just wondering how much a difference is Siberia V2 vs Razer Carcharias, looking at the prices it would seem Razer is lower end. Both seem to score on comfort which is important as I intend to use this for a few hours at a time for music and gaming.
Currently using ATH-A700 and also a Superlux HD669.

Yup, the DG is good upgrade from the onboard sound. I've paired that with the Superlux and there is definitely a difference with and without the DG.

Anyone heard of the new range of Philips headphones launched just this year? They have a gaming line as well. No reviews yet. I wonder how they stack up against the current leaders.

I've read around the thread and I'm still confused. With my budget of below RM300, what headset is the best in terms of gaming and occasional music/movie? Siberia V2? G35? Turtle Beach? Anything? 

So, the V2s wins hands down then? In terms of sound too I suppose? Aside from the uber comfort trait

I'm just speaking from experience because all those cheap headsets I bought last time and it keep breaking I just wished I wised up earlier and bought a good one. 

Did any1 try out the new razer tiamat 7.1? May I know how the sound quality on 2.2 and 7.1. wondering is that worth to pay that much for that headset.
And another fancy question , is that any laptop come with 7.1 sound card?

- Rig: PC. Mobo is Asus P8Z77-V Pro. With DTS thingy but the onboard equalizer for gaming, movie and music are sucks. Speaker is Corsair SP 2500 with headphone jack.
- Gaming>Music>Movie.
- MP3, M4A, AVI, MKV, RMVB.
- Universal listener. Thus I need balance between clarity, and tight bass instead of loud and dull bass.
- Headphone.
- Other requirements:
> 5.1 or 7.1. More to action with shooting gaming. I think Sniper Elite V2 need an accurate sound position because very hard to spot the enemy.
> Comfy. My current cheapo headphone really hurt my ear after 30 minutes.
> Can get a decent wireless headphone?
> Ear cushion are changeable.

BTW, I need comment regarding real 5.1/ 7.1 or virtual 5.1/ 7.1. I want to know which sound better and other necessary thing I should know. All I know is "real" using all the jack while "virtual" using the green jack and virtually surround. I don't mind wired or wireless, virtual or real surround as long it's a decent headphone with a nice price. Thanks all...

hi there. im new here. right now im deciding to buy either astro a50 or armageddon avatar x9. is it worth it getting the a50 compared to other one, as the price gap is quite big. money is not an issue for me, so im in need of  ur opinion which one is the best choice, specifically for games on ps3 and movies/music on mac. thanks

Finally found the tiamat 7.1 at lowyat..... heart pounding when i first look at it lol, been waitin a long time for it! I even purposely went to buy a new soundcard Xonar Phoebus to match it..... but to my dissapointment why does it sounds so bad?? Compare to my old turtlebeach X41, tiamat really sounds awefully hollow n weak, yes there is surround but really lack of oomph, stereo mode kinda sounds better than 7.1 in games like diablo 3, guildwar 2, dota 2. Battlefield 3 & cod 4 ok ok only, nothing much to shout bout the surround. Seriously i hope there is some wrong configuration by myside..... any advice forummers? I already set 7.1 volume control and tested the surround 7.1 , it is working... but sounds very BAD n some hissing?

I'm currently into gaming over Teamspeak (WOT) and need a new set.

Budget around RM100-200 range. i will connect the headphones to my Logitech G110 keyboard. THanks.

Is there any guide for that? Adjusting EQ for music already hard for me. Hehe... Adjusting for gaming might be harder than that.
